A few weeks ago, I visited an exotic wood retailer for the very first time in my life. As you can probably imagine if you've been to one yourself, I was quite beside myself as I took in all the species of lumber they had to offer. I walked out of there with about half-a-dozen rounds, and I think 8 or 10 planks of exotic woods that I've never worked with before, planks that I thought would make excellent material for turning pens out of. And, so, here is the first wood up for display! This is redheart (or Chakte-Kok), which gets its name from its stunning red color. Unfortunately, I've read that redheart's vibrant color tends to fade faster than most woods (some are already looking a rusty brown), but my hope is that the CA finish will help to preserve some of that red. One of these pens I turned over a week ago now, and it's still as red now as it was then. Fingers crossed!
Out of curiosity, what pen kit color do you think matches with the red wood the best? Gold, chrome, or graphite? Let me know down below!

...well, that choice of wood was a good pick!...makes a very nice pen...
Don't know if I'm a good reference for color...chrome is pretty generic, gold is ok at times...so I'm partial to the graphite or gun metal shades...but then, my favorite colors are black & gray...😉

Thanks so much! And I agree, the graphite came out much better than I had expected with this wood color
