Hi Ned 👏 wow that’s amazing and welcome 🤗 I guess you been here before? Are you bringing family too. In 2 months would be right in the middle of winter 🥶 please keep us updated 👏👏
Well done! They will be happy this winter. And you will rest easy knowing they are comfortable. As always, love your videos and seeing a bit of your life. ❤
Hi Sarah 👋 glad to hear for you 🙏🏻 hope they will be. Need to put in a couple of extra roosts too and there should be fine. Let’s just see if we can live in the extreme cold 🥶
Love it! Great to check out your amazing progress and ideas! Maybe I didn't catch the info but why do you separate the males and also why is it not a good idea to mix chickens from different lines? Thanks for the upload!
Hi 👋 Mathew, thanks so much 🙏🏻 sorry if I didn’t explain in properly in the video, but we moved all the females to one group because we are keeping them for the winter and next year and we got 3 new cocks for a different line for breeding next year. It’s good to rotate the cocks to keep the blood line stronger. If you just keep breeding in the some family line the chickens will become smaller and lay less eggs 🥚 over time. We keeper our cocks separate so they can grow a bit bigger before we will process them. I hope that helps 👍
@@SimpleWildLiving Hey - thanks a lot for taking the time to reply - great info: that makes sense! Thanks again and best of luck with everything! Keep up the excellent work 💪💪💪
Great project. We're also winterizing our out buildings (one container and a well house) but they're all metal. I'm working on getting ethernet into the buildings (WIFI won't penetrate metal) then having "smart" electric heaters which kick in at your choice of temperature. The best part is I can monitor them from our gers and get alerts if the temperature goes too low or some other issue. Remote monitoring is the cat's pajamas.

What will you do with all those cockerells? Are they cheap meat birds?
Yes we will keep them for food as buy whole chickens in the shops are 3 to 4 times more expensive here that western country’s
@@SimpleWildLiving I assumed so. Hoping to venture into raising meat birds next year. Love that little saw you were using too.
