I haven't been the biggest fan of CRKT, not because there is anything wrong with them or their knives, just taste wise (I do really like the Homefront & a few others though), but this year they really stepped up their stuff. Those were some reallly nice looking blades, legit new technology, and all for sub 100 prices! Amazing!
A lot of us knife nuts have been saying this for quite some time now. CRKT needs to start coming out with knives with better steals. The very least with D2. You guys have been getting this feedback for years now but you do not listen to consumers. Most of your knives have junk chinese steel!
Love CRKT lost mine but always looking for new. I absolutely love that karambit and have been waiting for it to come out. Can't wait to find and buy one
This is a great review of awesome knifes. I work at a military base and they do not allow guns so immediately I can't carry a firearm, they do allow knifes up to 3". I would love to hear the blade lengths in these videos. We at these bases go though such strict background checks, more strick than what it takes to own a gun. The problem with that is I will get off base and need to run errands which makes me not carry a firearm because its not practical or convenient to go back home to grab a sidearm. Maybe you guys could do a video for people that work on military installations. Something like "best knifes for everyday use within 3"s. Im sure alot of your views come from people in my situation. Let's here the blade length on these knifes! Love your videos and thank you!
Outrageous prices. Interesting new designs , but not enough to hike up the price. For example $200 for a karambit that flips/fold differently? Don’t play me for stupid.
True that! I thought you were joking at first but I just took a look and, I was interested in the Provoke (the Karambit) but not for 200$US (Not even 200$ CAD though but...)
So if you’re working that knife and you squeeze it and push the lock it could collapse on your hand? I’m not sure about that. Axis lock you have to pull back (unnatural movement). Liner and compression locks are on inside of knife. This sits on the outside and only needs pushed in (natural movement). Not sure.
I got very lucky and managed to get a provoke when they first released it. I’ve had it for a while now and gotta say overall I enjoy it. The one issue I have with this knife is the lock release. It is on the small side and takes a good bit of pressure to release the blade to close. The deployment is cool, the knife edge is lasting and I just really like the design. Don’t know if they have changed the lock release or not. It does seem to get easier with use but not as much as you would think.
Ewwwwwwwwwww. How about stop buying them. OMG please stop. Don't buy anymore crkt knives. Save your money and buy something nice. spend your money on Spyderco or Benchmade or microtech or zero tolerance. Don't be afraid to spend money for quality.
Be glad you're a knife guy and not a gun guy. I'm out like 2 grand to Daniel defense rn and theres about 3 grand worth of arsenal akms I want really bad.
Wow! CRKT is stepping it up! I see myself adding a bunch to my collection, because I have too many favorites! Great job CRKT and off course Blade HQ for another great video (and taking all my "spare" cash)!
I love crkt I don't care what people say they do so much in a year and for their customers. Even their 18cr13 I like. they know how to put on an edge whatever point being I'm always pleased with them
kind of new to collecting and ordered my first CRKT (journeyer @ 17.99 was wayyyy too good to pass up) from bladehq a few days ago. excited for it to arrive, but also looks like CRKT are bringing the fire for the new year! definitely on alert for a few if these!
CRKT needs to stop working on making new types of locking mechanisms and go back to the basics, like working their knives quality control and overall fit/finish!!! Also it would be nice to actually see CRKT start using some better blade steels!!! Because I've noticed recently that CRKT has downgraded the blade steel on a lot of their existing knives from 8cr13mov to a really crappy super low quality 5cr13mov!!! But these CRKT knives now with 5cr13mov still cost the same as they did when they had the better 8cr13mov steel!!! WHY the downgrade in steel from 8cr13mov to 5cr13mov? CRKT every year seems to be getting worse and worse!!! CRKT, you really need to step your game up in 2019!!!
Really? Like which ones? Because I love their designs but hate 8Cr13MoV...It'd be really sad to see them Downgrade from the Cheapest Chinese Steel available...
The CRKT Minimalist, it used to be made in 8cr13mov. I actually have the CRKT Minimalist in 8cr13mov, but recently I saw at Lowe's that it's now being made in 5cr13mov. Which is a much worse steel!!!
Yeah I've got a ignitor that i got like 6 yrs ago when they came out. Friend loves my knife and bought a new one couple months ago. It is crap, doesn't hold edge, i have to adjust torque on screws to get it to deploy correctly, doesn't hold edge nearly as well as my original model.
I *KNEW* CRKT sounded familiar. Looked down at my knife, and suddenly remember it's the CRKT Fossil. Funny enough, the blade length is 3.96" long, which makes it legal in my state within 0.04". Love this blade and this company.
Now this is epic. A couple of hipster bros getting paid to pretend to like entry level shit steel knives made in China. You couldn’t pay me to rely on anything CRKT makes.
I watch too many of these videos, I just made another order and I bought into Ben's love of the squid. But now I'm really looking forward to these deadbolt designs! I love CRKT, they were my first real knife company that I loved.

I got this setup from Michael Christy arguably the best knife sharpener there is, look up his Spyderco Police in S110VN sharpening video.
I have a lot of respect for Ben and passing the UA-cam torch so to speak. Love the guy, but it says a lot that he shares the spotlight.
That karambit is for sure gonna open in your pocket lmao
My first thought when I saw it. How does it lock CLOSED.
Check out Joe caswell on Instagram.
My thoughts exactly... if you need to pull it in a hurry be ready to destroy your pocket. Better off with a Fox karambit with Emerson Wave.
Think and research b4 you post idiot. It's impossibly difficult, I own one and challenge you to make it deploy.
Idiots talk shit as trolls w/o knowing anything real. Shame on you, TROLL nerd...
I haven't been the biggest fan of CRKT, not because there is anything wrong with them or their knives, just taste wise (I do really like the Homefront & a few others though),
but this year they really stepped up their stuff.
Those were some reallly nice looking blades, legit new technology, and all for sub 100 prices!
Amazing!
Anyone else really miss Austin?
wait did he leave?
rufus gillespie Gay?
rufus gillespie first we lost Austin now Ben smh 😭😭
Dude I’ve literally bought all the crkt knives that made me feel good! CEO terrestrial LCK love the knives dudesss
Love crkt I wish your products were made in the USA. I'd be buying
@@KB-kw8ni
No I dont. Slowly getting into the knife world and just have original Kershaws, and Gerbers.
I'm not really a knife guy. I liked almost every knife on display! Awesome work. I may pick up the karambit for my son. Keep the innovation up!
GIVE ME THAT PROVOKE NAAAAOOO
Watches mere acquaintance handing out quality, pricey knives like they’re going out of style...
Me: I need new friends.
Do more videos with Ryan. This guy gets it. Also Kurt is a natural. Well done again guys
OhmMyGod! $200 is definitely wild, but the original custom one that this is a collaboration with was like 460 if I'm not mistaken.
That's got to be the MSRP and not the real price
@@natec6855 no, it is the real price
@@smiles99710 I'd rather pay 460 than pay crkt 200 so I know I'm getting something quality and not crkt
I’m actually more excited for these than the 2019 benchmade lineup
Arghhh I want all of them.
These are some great knives from CRKT I love it and I can’t wait to get my hands on them! Great job 👍🏻
Any plans to do some lock strength testing given these bold claims?
We are hoping so! Keep your eyes peeled.
I love CRKT designs and that lock is so cool. That jumbones is bad ass
2019 gonna be another great year
So if you’re working that knife and you squeeze it and push the lock it could collapse on your hand?
Crkt is killing my wallet this year
Ewwwwwwwwwww.
Alot of great knives that are now on my wishlist. Great episode
"Insert subtext here"
I am still a big fan of CRKT knives.....great stuff.
I love that CEO... might have to retire my Crossbones
Wow! CRKT is stepping it up! I see myself adding a bunch to my collection, because I have too many favorites! Great job CRKT and off course Blade HQ for another great video (and taking all my "spare" cash)!
You couldn't call it the Pilarge? That should be criminal.
We felt the same way. Looks like we have a new knife nickname!
Man Kurt is such a great addition to knife banter, hes a pretty chill dude
We want ben
Start protesting on every new vid comment we want ben deal dooď
CRKT is going hard this year. So many original and beautiful priduction designs.
Man if you guys just used better materials....
Exactly! That's why I switched from crkt to zero tolerance.
I love crkt I don't care what people say they do so much in a year and for their customers. Even their 18cr13 I like. they know how to put on an edge whatever point being I'm always pleased with them
Let me know when you offer a made in America product. I am all about American jobs.
hard to do. something i need costs 5k-10k here in the usa, i go to china.. 500 dollars.
Your nickname really contrasts with yout nationalist/patriotic comment
kind of new to collecting and ordered my first CRKT (journeyer @ 17.99 was wayyyy too good to pass up) from bladehq a few days ago. excited for it to arrive, but also looks like CRKT are bringing the fire for the new year! definitely on alert for a few if these!
"How many IPA's do you have on tap?"
>nOw THis iS Ebik
You really are an NPC
I watch too many of these videos, I just made another order and I bought into Ben's love of the squid. But now I'm really looking forward to these deadbolt designs! I love CRKT, they were my first real knife company that I loved.
I'm super excited for a lot of the lineups this year theres a ton of really innovative stuff
The first CRKT I really wanted to buy in years... The CEO... and they are sold out everywhere. -_- damn my luck -_-
When Kurt hugged Ryan I almost teared up... I mean something got in my eye... errrrr... is someone dicing onions?
That deadbolt lock has them on the right track in my opinion. Awesome design.
I'm really digging these sleek designs! Can't wait to buy a couple. Right up my alley!
