D batteries are dead or missing?
I really hate it when my D batteries go missing out of my Pro 900 😉

Hi Skin. People don't often swipe the batteries but they might store them or leave dead batteries in the unit. If the batteries are missing it will be obvious by the low weight. Also, you don't need batteries if you have an adapter. The alkaline-type D cells we recommend for use with our locators sell for around US$17.00 per 8-pack at Walmart (2022).
