Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos on suncatchers. I've watched them all and lots of them twice! I appreciate all the valuable info in each video and it has enabled me to make my own suncatchers but with my own style. Thank you again! 💜
Thank You so much for this tutorial!!! I will be making my first Suncatcher and I found your video the best because you are very thorough and you help me with colors and sizes of beads and charms.
@ around 14:50 the crystal has something covering the fishing wire, can I ask what you used and where you purchased your crystals absolutely beautiful ty
I believe you’re referring to the fluted bead. It’s an acrylic bead and works so well to cover the line. I have a business license and that’s how I get my products. You can try Google and see what’s available in your area. If you have a business license look for wholesalers.
@kentgulley5259 I would do it as many times as it takes until it holds. Just make sure it’s all in one spot so the knot size builds up enough for it to stay. It’s not something I’ve run into before so it’s hard to know if that’s the best advice but seems like it’s worth a try.
It’s definitely the best results! But if you wanted to do some crystal and some acrylic or pearl or whatever else it can still make for a beautiful piece and shine for you. The crystal ball however can be clear and will produce rainbows around the room I just prefer the beauty of an etched crystal.
I've seen people mention round beads starting fires, is that why what I've seen you've used faceted? I wanna start making some, but I'd like to not cause accidents. Lol
I’m not sure what causes the issue but it’s always a good idea to make sure something is safe before it sells. I believe the personal safety needs to also come into play being a fire can be caused from many different elements if in the wrong place and the sun amplifies beams somehow. I have mine in a window that has sunlight for at least 9 hours and have never had anything happen.🤞😊👍
It’s a beaded clamshell. You can get lots of different types some with an open hook at the top and some that are a solid loop at the top. Both work well.
@@EverythingAJs I’ve searched and found some Aurora borealis crystals from a website but I haven’t had luck finding Swarovski. Do you think any would do as long as they’re Aurora borealis?
I would maybe order one and see how it looks. This was always how I started choosing what’s worth it. The cuts could be different but it’s important to find a good quality. I always say if I would have it for myself then it’s good to go with! 😉
Can tell me where I can get the top finishing metal bead with hook to finish off sun catcher. I also want to purchase charm with loop so that I can put a charm or bell on. Thanking you. Pamela
The best place I’ve found supplies is a local bead shop. If you don’t have one you may try a craft store. The name of the metal hook clasp is “clamshell clasp” and the loop clasp I call a charm clasp. Search online if you can’t find locally.
Approx cost of AB crystals and any recommendations on trusted sellers I purchased the plain and the cut at top where hole is goes way out past the cover bead (Trumpet flower) also The ab are very costly
Well approximate cost varies but I have just added them to my Etsy shop as an option. Not sure if it’s a better deal but it’s the only option I can offer. Here’s the link everythingajs.etsy.com/listing/1740216585
Hi sorry me again - can you please tell me the name of the attachment piece you put on last that you curled with your plyers so you can then attach the ring ?to it. Thank you
I liked your video if I could see all that you were doing, half the time your off camera so I'm not sure what your using for material at the end make hook to hang the item. You do have a great technique for tying.
and would you know the name, what to call a thing that sun catchers can hang from to make a grouping of sun-catcher strands thus being more a "chime" suncatcher TY
Please tell me what to buy and where to buy all the things you are using to make these awesome some sun catchers. I guess you are teaching us to make them for ourselves :). Yours are so very pretty. Debbie B
Thanks for the compliment. When making something like this it’s easy to head to a local craft or bead store and select a few different colors and shapes/sizes as well. Good luck and I always make custom creations if that’s easier.😉
I really liked seeing this all come together! so pretty. I want to ask [1] what is the metal bead with a hole on the side, that is what it looks like and then those 2 little beads are nestled in each end... u used this on each strand and I forget or couldn't hear what it is called. [2] what is the last metal piece called that you take the needle nose and make a tiny loop that the round jump ring goes on to be where a hook will hold the stand... did u use all glass or just plastic and have u made a chime with copper sun-catcher that makes noise... thank you very much [ ps: I had my volume on 98 and it was heard to hear you, but you had my attention.] thanks again. anyone here know the names of what I asked for or AJ --- so appreciate.
The metal part is called a “clamshell clasp” I’ve never made another version of the Suncatchers I’m really into the simplicity of this beautiful design. The beads I use for the I didn’t mention a name but they are called “Bicones” and I use a combination of crystal and glass beads. Sorry about the sound issues.
Thank you! Unfortunately it’s been a learning curve on editing everything myself. I’ve learned how to control the volume better and hope that the quality overall just continues to get better. I’m usually just a maker and now I’m a videographer, video editor and a maker. It’s fun but definitely shows when I’m still learning all the tricks.
Thanks for your sharing 😊

Love your design technique. Very nice video. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure I’m so glad you liked 😘👍
How do you use crimps 0:44 0:46
So I made one but the cover bead knot at end falls right thru Any idea why ? are the holes different sizes ?
They could be different sizes but what line are you using? How many times did you tie the knot 🪢
@@EverythingAJs 17 lb 2 basic knot , Did i miss one ?

Do the beads need to be real crystal to reflect rainbow light into the room?
It’s definitely the best results! But if you wanted to do some crystal and some acrylic or pearl or whatever else it can still make for a beautiful piece and shine for you. The crystal ball however can be clear and will produce rainbows around the room I just prefer the beauty of an etched crystal.

Where do you find Aurora crystals? Thank you in advance!
If you start a search in Google you should find some.

@@EverythingAJs thank you! I’m very inspired!
I’m currently editing a video about the crystals I will post the link when it’s posted.
Do you used same size beads?
All different sizes and shapes is best for me.
So pretty ❤️🇩🇰

Clamshell end cap knot cover bead
Where to buy that big crystal
Google should be a good source for you to find what’s available in your market.
I liked your video if I could see all that you were doing, half the time your off camera so I'm not sure what your using for material at the end make hook to hang the item. You do have a great technique for tying.
I think I missed an editing mistake on that part. I will be making some more soon and will make sure to show that part again.👍

I don’t do that style sorry can’t really help with this style.

Where is supply list so I can make one?
Where can we buy those beads?
I have several places I’ve been gathering beads from so not one specific shop.
your finishing steps are off camera. it would really help to see the knotting and the loop that you create
Sorry it was an edit error but I have a much better explanation on this video ua-cam.com/video/bgbi1SCub4o/v-deo.htmlsi=yZFvGi2dglBZ9d5h
Your volume is bad, hard to hear you
Yes I can hardly hear you.
Sorry it’s been a learning curve on that but hopefully different and better from now on. 🤞
Your design is pretty. Your volume is way too low. I had you turned all the way up and could barely hear.

Can't hear a thing
Sorry about that I have hopefully improved on that issue from here on out.
