Love NatGeo, hate UA-cam ads.
Eerie indeed, such plants seem to have a kind of intelligence. At least, their 'behaviour' suggests so.
amazing,
Giving me creeps but still so beautiful!!!
They have a kind of volition, common in animals and rare in plants. Where does it come from, I wonder.
With this music it sounds like those plants are going to take over the world!
😹😹😹😹👻👻👻👻
No, they will protect us against zombies.
In a decade or so, you will be sitting in your bath, but only to realise that you've been trapped by a mutated nepenthes plant!
well , probably
you never know :(
Nice crunchy sound effects
+A Rastalos At the first glance i thought those sounds were real, but then thought: "oh well, that's impossible"
MekoAngel Animator Volume
yucky shut up
Ikr so we don't need asmr afterwards because they anticipated us up at 4 am
Ring color for me tomorrow morning
Wow filming the time lapse from that angle at 2:26 is genius! The whole thing was beautifully filmed.
The music makes it look like a supervillain is being created.
Sounds like catz theme from courage the cowardly dog
A Supervillain is. [Like if you get it]
Call me back NUMBER please
Name of the background music?
P.S: Ok, after extensive search..here's the name of the song: Closer by Råtasseriet (Album: Beyond), though it's extremely hard to find
Tell me you didn't use Soundhound, Shazam or a similar app to find to song :P
Went much more than just Shazam buddy. Had to listen to lots of songs to get this info..and even then I could only listen to a sample of this song which has a similar beat.
Rahul Pasupureddy lol, eitherway, thanks for finding it
I immediately thought it was Trent reznor, NIN
nah I think nat Geo made it a custom song cus that song u mentioned is more a tuned up mood and sounds way different.
Bruh it's so unsatisfying when the fly trap misses the insect
thanks for this awesome video National Geographic.... 10/10
I agree
I wonder if insects are watching this in their own tiny little movie theatre screaming "NO! DON'T GO IN THERE!"
And the slugs in the back yell, "MOTHS! DOWN IN FRONT!"
VideoMenu I know this is a 2 year old comment, but it was hilarious and cracked me up! 😅😂🤣
You have vivid imagination. 😉
In my opinion, if I were a bug, I'd probably think this was a horror movie.
@@Spiderific Now your comment is two years old🤣
@@mrssassypants0605 funny how it goes innit, I'm just waiting till the next person comes along, two years later.
@@lordandsavior6726 same😌👌
The shot at 2:21 and then at 2:26.... absolutely phenomenal. I can't imagine how difficult that must have been to shoot.
I feel sorry for the spiders - the bug goes in, gets stuck on the sticky part, the spider comes along sensing a free meal, and ends up as part of the main course.
Life is beautiful, and also deadly to the unaware.
Cheers!
Chef Jeff Tendick well said
Sounds good to me
Shut up. Although some spiders can help,my house if full of harmful spiders. My sundew all killed and eat them. Sundews are the best.
@@BukuiZhao Sundews are the best? I like the Dewy Pine (Drosophylum lusiticanum) as it is rarer than the Albany Pitcher Plant (Cephalotus follicularis) which is my favorite.
But the Sundews (Drosera ssp) are still wonderful.
It is a matter of opinion.
@24kGoldenRocket I agree but it is also a part if the droseraeace family
Poison ivy must be proud
omg like totaly right xD
Natasha Romanoff lo 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sai Dela Cruz 😂😂😂
And this is why I don't go outside
+endermanslayer24 lol
+endermanslayer24 Or can they...?
+Music is my life lol
MOS3 ur not right there too small and only eat things like bugs and frogs and rats
This is a better reason to go outside, they eat spiders and many other insects.

An interesting and amazing time lapse. National Geographic at it's best.

Well Chris Field at his best for doing it, National Geographic at its best for hiring him..

I desperately want one, when I was a kid
That... was totally awesome. So creepy with the sound effects, but so beautifully shot. I love it!
Insect: im gonna eat ya buddy
Plant: *uno reverse card* no, u
Expensive Cameras + Insane Photographers = THIS VIDEO
Thank You! :)
I spent the last 3 years filming for Green Planet. Releases March 2022. Buckle up, it's insane!
Loved the sound effects. How when they opened up it sounded like stretched leather! Pretty cool, thanks!!!
venus flytrap: I'm gonna end this man's whole career
venus flytrap: *misses

amazing
Is this Tim Burton's garden?
Joe Biden's Shotgun I hope
You have to love nature...
good lesson for watching where you go and knowing where you are in life cause if you are not careful you will get stepped on and eaten.
Yep!
Yes mate
Whoever is selecting the music for these time lapse videos is on point. The sound effects we could do without.
A prime example of how nature is haunting, breathtaking and elegant
A year to complete; I can believe it. That was really high quality stuff and great shots.
The best thing i see since the quarantine
2:27 the music and the sound of the plant remind me of my favourite supervillain, Poison Ivy
Awesome video! I own all of the varieties shown. The cape drosera are are so fun to watch eat & grow, especially when the flowers finally open up. Then watching them close at night.
I just got major "Nine inch Nails" vibes from that 🙂
1:53, RIP earbud users if u have it max volume.
Like me.
stunningly beautiful video I can't believe the quality, the song helped set the mood too
SEE? even plants eat meat you vegans XD
Couch Potato right 😅
Couch Potato LOL right!!
yes they are
Devvrat Shukla they’re not but carnivorous plants can eat meat sometimes mice
@@harrysatin5110 you're right, if they don't eat meat, they can't survive. We, as humans, do not need animal products to survive. That's the difference
Some great sound effects.
Amazing how those leaves (?) turn into mouths.
Oh WELL DONE to who ever made this film. It is beautifully filmed and thank you for uploading this worthwhile little drama. What interesting life there is all around us.
Fantastic shots, especially the one of the little flowers growing up towards the camera! Congrats!
This video was really intriguing and the soundtrack was kickass, but those sound effect like the crunching and stretching kinda made me want to down 3 bottles of nleach
84updown why? I liked the sounds
Eiahfou Yes I love nleach
Eiahfou Ah, the refreshing flavor of nleach!
Eiahfou Right!😛
Christian Nuñez 😂😂😂
I don’t know why but with the electric guitar thing as the sundew plants grow it seems really fitting.
I expect zerglings to come out of the exploding buds
HA
#UnexpectedStarCraft
or a lurker lol
Can you imagine these plants 10x bigger, and what new menu items they'd add to their carnivorous diet... I just got chills
looks like something out of a tim burton movie, so cool!
not enough Johnny Depp
Invasion of the carnivores! What a superbly produced film.
Very cool shots, but I am embarrassed to be listening to the music.
Best video ever !!!!!!!!! Love it thank every one who put all that together
Marginally satisfying.
This sound effects giving ASMR were created well before the word ASMR went mainstream.
this is the chomper of Plants vs zombies
The best time-lapse I've ever seen!
Don't listen to it with noise.
Play Guile's theme in a second tab and mute this. Instantly becomes epic.
Also works with the extended Attack on Titan Theme.
Finally a worthy video in the recommended section. The music is amazing, too. Also, I think the American Horror Story opening theme would fit it perfectly too lol
Great video, Love the music too, great touch. Is this custom music or does anyone know who performed it or the name of the song?
That is GORGEOUS to watch over and over again
same, i was watching it 11 time's all over again..............
Amazing video and finally I can say this....good music too.
Awe I wish we saw Nepenthes fully develop! I've always wanted a carnivorous plants landscape like this one. Very cool! I keep my Nepenthes in an almost sealed glass container with a light.
1:35 oh my i see something weird there
What?
looks like a rising pinecd
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) wHat.. ?
That is an nepenthes
Brings new meaning to "the jungle comes alive"
I don't think it's eerie, I think it's absolutely beautiful
Brilliantly filmed. Lovely plants.
Hmm. Thinking of new dangerous and risky salad ideas.
That was beautiful actually. Very beautiful.
fantastic video. the music is reminiscent of NIN. I'd like to hear more. who's the artist?
+Hugo The Poet I came here to ask/say the same thing. Awesome music
Brilliant! Those time lapse videos are so smooth! Must be days of footage!
why were so many clips cut right before something happened to the insect? very frustrating video to watch.
I thought the background music was accurate... These plants only took millions of years to grow, in various shapes and colors, to kill and digest things in the most beautiful way. So, an epic yet dark sounding background theme makes sense to me. I feel like a lot of you expect quieter music or something very slow, but, evolution is not quiet, nor is it understated.
Good video. A+ for the music
This is so calming
Am I the only one who could of done without the music?
Off topic facts:
Pill bugs are actually crustaceans, in fact so are many of the small creatures you unearth in your backyard. Most of the time crustaceans have a harder exterior. However, this does not include shells. Shelled animals belong to the mollusk group, whereas the external armor of a crustacean is non removable. Pill pugs can live up to 4 years, so they can also be your actual animal pet if your not paying for fiddler crabs or one of those huge centipedes. If you want pill bugs, you have to find them! Most are found under rocks. Be gentle when collecting pill bugs, handling could be stressful. Never take a blue or purple colored bug, they have a disease that may spread. Get more than 8 bugs. Get a good sized aquarium for pill bugs and fill with soil, small rocks, sticks and leaves. Provide an open food source of vegetables and fruit excess sprinkled around the case. Food must be abundant and easy to get. However, do even more research before getting pill bugs as pets.
Step 1: mute this video (the sound effects and music are atrocious)
Step 2: Put on Larry Gold's - Night Falls (the first video when you search that)
Step 3: Thank me later
Thanks😂
no. music is fine.
King Jessepold This music is far far better suited. You'll know
DangerZone I'll check it out. I like listening to new music anyway
+DangerZone but still I dig this music
Making the jungle a tiney bit cleaner. Good job.
1:29 Just Doing Some Morning Stretching

Beautifully done!!

Haha plant is eating animals too lol
Well that climaxed very quickly lol. Brilliant videography and choreography! 💛
this is a freakin shop of horrors
this music makes me feel like i should be on shrooms watching this
That was awesome. Great job and really enjoyed the music
Music : råtasseriet ーCloser
Thank you bro
どうもありがとうございました‼︎
So epic! The music makes it looks like a trailer of some epic games or movie!
This background music does not go with this.
This is oddly satisfying to watch
I love it
Song name?
1:20 is my favorite part
lol little shop of horrors much?
Audrey Dickson believe it or not there’s actually a website called little shop of horrors in uk and they sell carnivorous plants xD
It's so much fascinating... 😍 But at the same point horrifying 🤯🤯🤯
This is gorgeous. Almost Tim Burton-esque
background music makes this video much more amazing
When the sundew grows and opens up it looks like it just woke up from a long nap
this is fantastic!! wow!!! so amazing!!
2:42 i like the way the trap closes its cillia line up
The cycles of energy transformation in this universe are amusing to observe.
Savage yet so beautiful....................love the sound effects.
It is really beautiful and amazing seeing this happen
So wonderfully amazing...Thank you
These plants are so fascinating...
Where we once had "out of the frying pan and into the fire," we now have "out of the pitcher plant and into the sundew."
Nature and evolution is fascinating.
OMG this is SO cool and amazing!
