I just went to the grocery store dressed up as uzui Tengen from Demon Slayer. I didn’t really have time to take it off before I left and needed to run errands. I also figured I might as well see how the costume holds up and how I should improve it.
Safe to say, I got many stares, and could definitely feel a few angry glares from the older people. They didn’t say anything tho probably because I’m like 6’5 210lbs of muscle but yeah haha.
It was worth it in the end because I realized the pins holding my clothes don’t really stay together too well and the ribbons at the legs don’t stay too wrapped. So I got that to look forward to fixing before Katsucon.
My advice tho, cosplay with a group of people and definitely don’t go to normal places if you have social anxiety or anything. It’s a great confidence builder for cosplay but if you cant afford to deal with the looks or people remembering you then don’t do it.

You totally should! If ur scared of seeing people you know, then go to a mall further away. But you shouldn’t be :)
@@fiilmstar thank you for the advice but that’s not exactly what’s stopping me from doing it. You see, I have social anxiety which means I stop myself from doing a lot of stuff that I want to because I’m too scared to. Maybe if I had more people I was cosplaying with them maybe I could but I don’t really know anyone else who would do it with me.
I'm being saiki for Halloween then my goal is to find a cafe with coffee jelly and pull in the cosplay and order coffee jelly to see there reactetions
@@ZephyrusArts I get it, I have it as well. But you know we have to start somewhere! I’m recently trying to start over a new leaf. But that aside, some advice for you, I know your being held back, but to find people with the same interests as you, you have to show your interests! Cosplaying in public may seem scary especially alone, so just starting off by wearing just like a shirt or hoodie with the anime title on it or something is a start. People who like anime would normally 1, stare at your shirt and debate whether to approach you or not out of anxiety(as well) or 2, walk up to you or pass by you and tell you they like your shirt/hoodie. Sorry for the long and VERY late reply but I hope this helps somehow and someday you’ll be able to cosplay in public with friends of the same interests :)
