I've been thinking about doing this for a long time, and putting it off for a long time. This made it seem simple enough that I'm gonna actually do it soon. Thanks for showing your process!
Very nice and that was my plan but my old door doesn’t want to come off 😂 I don’t want to change doors as I can look down the canyons when I drive over the mountain passes with the low windows Now you gave me an idea
Love,Peace,& Chix grease!😂😂 U & JD made that look easy peasy!Thanx for sharing, that is my fav way of doing the Skoolie doors of all I’ve seen so far,I like the look of a full door with replacement doors!🥰💙
That's cool Isaac will how you did the door. If down the road I may consider a bus to convert into a tiny home on wheels after having my van conversion build into my tiny home on wheels for awhile, I'll know what can be done for the schoolie door 😊 thanks for sharing Isaac, take care, sending lots of love hugs and prayers daily to you, Jaylena and baby Ember 💖🤗💖🤗👶💖🤗
Love, Peace and Chicken Grease to you too 😂 So glad I just found this video because I just bought a 25' shuttlebus today where the door motor or actuator is fggd. Now I can fix that first thing when I drive it home next week 🤗 Blessings to you all and thank you!
"Love, peace, and chicken grease." LOL. I love that saying of yours. Great job, Isaac. I've wondered how a skoolie could make a "normal" door with what they had available.
Hey there Isaac ..where the wood across inside door could be right across n somehow fit lock in for door may not work for lock level mechinism...just wondered for nicer look however brilliant simple outfit ..i love your simplicity with a lot of what you do so peoplel such as i who arent that handy you make it easy for us..love ur work Isaac
Sorry i dont think it has anything to do with poor or being rich. Its how a hard working man can build a bus with his own hands and the determination of building with what he has.I would rather watch Issac doing a build, the having a rich person showing just the look of a bus.keep the videos c'mon🤗🤘🏼
@@sarahjones6342 it was humor dear,a general statement not directed at or to any one person but a simple question many people have pondered time over time, and remember, being rich is just a state of mind
It looks nice. Really like it. My only concern is safety. Maybe adding another deadbolt on the inside and putting some sort of protection barrier to the glass to prevent or make it difficult to intruder
Another great video. Not that I'm ever going to need it, but are there any special hacks for a tight seal where the two doors now meet in the middle if the rubber gaskets (?) are mangled, cracked or deteriorating so wind and weather won't seep in? Oh, and I'm crazy about your music choices.
Hey Isaac, we’re just building out our first skoolie for our family. We converted a coach bus before, but there are some significant differences, one being the door… our skoolie has air brakes, and also air to the door closure system.. it didn’t look like yours had air going to it. Have you done this to a door that had air to it?
Just wondering:. Can you put a metal bar on your folding door on the inside so it won't fold anymore and seal it first so it won't leak and then unhook one side of it so it opens as a flat door?!
Youre a typical pinoy.Jack of all trade God Bless you and your family and I enjoy watching your vlog keep safe always you and Jaylen PS can you put sometimes the flag of the Phil in your vlog it might help
97 shuttle eco350-450 here... This is genius and simple. Ill use it. Thank you!! However, i still cant stand how LOW my step goes ... Got any genius plans to remove the 8 inches of underhang that becomes the blite of any conversion that really wants to go somewhere... yet?
Just wondering:. Can you put a metal B's ret on your folding door on the inside so it won't fold anymore and deal it first so it won't leak and then unhook one side of it do it opens as a flat door?! Put a hook on the bus and use a chain on the door to hold it open. You may want to put a screen on the door opening when you have it held open.
How is it for vibration when you're driving? Does it rattle? Mine still has the old school bus door mechanism. I'm definitely going to make it so I can open it from the outside but I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.
@@isaacturnerit what adjustments did you make? We followed your video for our conversion but no matter what we do with weatherstripping and latches we can't seem to get it to stop whistling at us and vibrating so much the lock keeps unlocking 😢
@@isaacturnerit we will probably try sealing with weatherstripping around the side and top edge of the door instead of on the inside of the door. More like draft protection on an exterior house door.
I started my door conversion yesterday and it's going great. I have a shuttle bus with bifold doors (They open outwards) So i cut the hinges on one side, pulled out both middle rubber seals, then i drilled holes through the sides of both doors and used a couple of bolts to bring them together. They came together so nicely! (i'll probably run a bead of silicone between the seam) The problem is that of course the door opening isn't square (why would it be lol) and since i removed the rubber seals there is now a large gap. I think i can bolt a 2x4 to fill in most of that gap but then i need to build a doorframe as you did. But the top opening is probably 2x wider than the opening at the bottom. Maybe i can frame it out and then cover it all with thin sheet metal so you can't se all the shims i'm going to need.
Pilipino Isaac, Great job on the door build. I do have questions , I didn't notice any rubber seal on the outer portions of the door . How does it do keeping out the rain and snow and also road noises from air ? Just curious or as I jokingly call it Killing cats Lol . Laterz friend - Leland
I have been watching for years and this is the simplest, best, easiest door change I’ve seen. THANK YOU!! My shuttle bus thanks you too! ❤
Dude!!! Yours is the best idea I've found. I didnt want different doors, but didn't want the existing door. Thank you
Is there anything you can't do?? I never tire from watching how talented you are! -Hugs 🤗
Lol I can’t weld. But one day
@@isaacturnerit Well, I'll look forward to watching!! ❤
Oooops forgot something. I love that you left the middle rubber pieces on. Seems like it’s good sealing when mine are closed.
