    Malaysia ECRL - The longest 665km East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) will traverse the East Coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang before linking the Klang Valley on the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The Genting Tunnel in Pahang is the Longest Rail Tunnel in Asia. 2026

    We were in KL in 2010 and remember the tokens very well. So glad they introduced the card system. We moved to Jakarta a few years ago, and will be travelling to KL for work training soon.
    Your detailed explanation of the train system was easy to follow and is much appreciated. Terima kasih banyak, Mas Malik🙏🏼

    One thing I wish the MRT designed is dual-transfer stations like Singapore/hong-kong, they could've used the Conlay station with a cross platform transfer design like TRX but going in opposite directions, for example;
    On a TRX train platform, both train goes the same direction.
    On conlay station the train goes opposite direction, so you don't have to climb the escalator if you want to go to putrajaya instead of K-damansara.
    Add more announcements and guide signs on the train like in Singapore so people know where to go. For example;
    "For service to bukit Bintang, please transfer to platform 4, for service to maluri, please transfer at Conlay station"
    That's why hong Kong and singapore are the pioneers of the MRT system.

    This a very good over view of how to go from station to station. When you want to go somewhere new how do you pick the start and end station. As a newbie i struggle with figuring out which stations to use. For example i wanted to get to IKEA and it took half an hour to figure which starting and ending station to use. Google maps sometimes picks dumb stations. The system maps i can find are abstractions. A real station map overlaying the actual city map with at least major roads and other references is an example of what might help.

    • @BestFoodieForever
      @BestFoodieForever  2 місяці тому

      I’m glad this video could help, with all these new train lines KL City is more accessible then ever, it’ll just take some time until new maps are installed and google maps would catch up too 😊👍🏼

    • @roughrosa
      @roughrosa Місяць тому

      Instead of Google Map, try the alternative, such as apps Moovit. I don’t know how accurate the app is, but it seems another option to look into when figuring out.
      Yes, google maps do tend to suggest stupid stations, but it does give you a general idea of the route to take from your place and total time it takes I.e walk 10 mins, take the MRT, change to LRT, then walk again.
      Knowing the short cut/pedestrian walk) helps a lot. My daughter ended up a bit lost when my husband advised her what station to take etc.. Her friends then suggested a different station because they knew of a short cut/less distance walk to where she wanted to go.
      I simply summarised the incident as my husband’s map is still in 3 GPS mode (old school) while the Gen Z are already using GNSS 7 satellites.. 😂 My husband needs to upgrade.

    - buy the card & buy 1 day or 3 days unlimited ride pass
    - kl transit will stop at stations between kl sentral & klia. KL express go directly to klia/kl sentral (early booking will be cheaper)
    - ETS also available at kl sentral (including food court) ask information counter
    - lockers are available at at kl sentral & nu mall (ground floor). Ask information counter
    -most trains/platforms named after the last station of each line
    -for ktmb please get the schedule (working days/weekend) at the counter or online
    -ktmb trains also have dedicated women coaches seats
    -just buy the token to the station you want, it'll include the cost for both lines. So don't need to exit/pay at the interchange station (not sure for monorail line) but you can walk a few minutes from monorail stations also to lrt/mrt/ktmb stations
    -if the train too crowded & u can't see the information boards, just turn on your phone map (not work for underground train)
    -for 1st timer at masjid jamek lrt station, please ask information counter to go another station
    -the app can tracking bus location online
    For those who want to tour the Greater KL from above without hassle, cozy & low cost, it's recommended to take those trains because most of the tracks are lifted except ktmb

      2. MyRapid is a Touch 'n Go card, they have many versions of (Many different looking) Touch 'n Go cards.
      3. Yes, you are right, Touch 'n Go card can be used for transport as well as many other services ( The Touch 'n Go Card may be used for toll usage at all highways in Malaysia, major public transportation services in Klang Valley and at selected retail and food outlets and theme
      park.)

      you can use debit/credit card in certain stations. I saw the scanner at the gate of my station (and it's not in the city center). they're currently running tests to let people use credit card on rapidKL buses too.

    • @BestFoodieForever
      @BestFoodieForever  29 днів тому +1

      @Ruriko.Y yes, I have seen it at few stations and as you said, it’s still a test run so it’s not installed at all stations yet, so that’s why it’s NOT recommended because, if you enter the station using Debit/Credit card, you can only leave the station the same way but not all stations will allow that and that could be problematic 😊

    I think the Malaysian gov has introduced unlimited trips for foreign tourists . Its called Mycity pass for foreigners .
    1 day unlimited RM 10
    2 day unlimited RM 18 and
    3 days unlimited RM 25 .
    Its a bargain if u take many trips in one day . And it covers buses also ( rapidkl )

    just as an FYI, you can also use your Touch n Go cards on all rapid and KTM transits, aswell as your credit/debit card too i think. However for the KLIA (ERL) trains you MUST use tickets

    Very good video - we have been to KL many times but were always confused by the MRT/LRT system - but we always take to express train from the airport. The travel card at the beginning... can you add money to it later or do you buy another card when it runs out - or does it last 3 days unlimited travel?

      Now they have a new Unlimited Pass for travellers, 1 day Pass RM10.00 and 3 days Pass RM25.00 (1 Card for 1 Person)
      That card can be used for all Rapid KL Trains and Busses 😊👍🏼

      Please don't do that, because it will jam the ticket cards and stop the exit barrier from opening. That's my past experience.
