I'm a Liverpool fan and no love for Man Utd but I think they made right decision yes they had a shocking season but also got to take into account the injuries they had and make shift line ups ten Hag had to put out and also the managers they were linked too weren't great. So ya think they made right decision given him next season year 3 and see how it goes.

This lot is a joke. I know the channel is doing this scripted foolishness for clout. Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal won't take southgate, but for some reason Ogden thinks Southgate should be in the conversation for the United job because he has friends in high places.

Craig seems a bit too bitter about this decision. The injuries were a major reason for why it has been such a poor season. Rashford had a poor season when you compare from previous seasons. Casamero was poor. These are some reasons why it went bad. But in addition, there was no other top manager to replace Erik. Like Pep, Klopp or Carlos Ancholotti. So why get Erik out when there was no obvious better option. A last point is as a supporter of United, we have sacked good managers after 3 seasons due to poor performances. This has not worked. So lets see how it goes this season. If he fails, he has to go. But what if he turns it around and we begin playing top football and competing for top honors? Please don't put Southgate or Potter as a potential replacement. They have not done enough to deserve to manage a top club.
I mean Bayern literally hired a relegated manager & they couldn’t even get a mid table premier league team to join them.

@@nadeemmalik7104 he lead to 3rd in the first season and 2nd season was a difficult one because of injuries and a trophy each season I’d give him another season but not extend so soon but I am hearing that his new contract is changing his job description from manager to head coach which means he would have to coach a different style of football that director of football chooses and the board will decide the players with ten hag not not just the players he wants, this is so that if the sack him the next manager they choose can come straight in and coach the system. Something like that.
@@DmizzMOB Some of the players have blamed EtH for the injuries, his training methods and over-running. He'll just be responsible for coaching, man management and motivating. For the most part of last season, it didn't look like the team had had any coaching, he obviously failed with Sancho, and threw Garnacho under the bus, so let's see how great his motivating skills are. All Chelsea's players spoke v highly of Poch, who clearly has better man management skills.

Fans see the injuries Utd sustained last year especially across the back line. ETH delivered two trophies in two years and brought through our most promising youngsters in a generation. INEOS must now be ruthless with transfers and back the manager!
We will know by Christmas. If he can get a performance like the FA Cup performance out of the team he will do just fine. Maybe don't get ETH involved in recruitment! Take that as a starting point. I am an Arsenal fan- giving a manager a fair chance is the right thing to do. I always felt Arteta should be given that chance and at 42 he will probably be one of the most sought after managers in a few years.
