My tires were super difficult to get onto the rim so i found that it makes less off a mess to do a dry fit first then remove the valve core and put sealant directly in through the rim. (also if the tyres are not seating, splash some soapy water onto the bead, it helps a lot)

CESAR1309LAMPARD dude I know people that have 20 grand in bikes in their bike cave...and that’s just the bikes. You throw in tools and spare parts and you can easily add another couple Gs
It should be noted for beginners that 10x will NOT be enough for optimal braking when bedding in the brakes. Just something to keep in mind for the first ride. After riding though it should be much improved. Nice video, Seth! I can't believe you haven't done one like this already.
Hey Seth, I just love your videos. I been watching you for now about two years. I just like your video style. You get me stoked with every single video you make! Just bought my first MTB and decided to go with the Release 3 (2018). Put it all together after watching this, piece of cake! Still need to buck up and try and do the tubeless conversion myself.
Man DB has stepped up their game from what I remember to be there Walmart bikes. Now I want one. That little extra box of goodies plus valve stems to do a tubeless set up is a nice touch.
Interesting advise on breaking in new brake pads. I had always been taught that by applying light pressure as you show will glaze the pads, so I usually get up to speed on a downhill and firmly apply pressure, but don't come to a complete stop. Repeating this about 10-15 times brings out the real stopping power of your pads without causing them to glaze. I will have to try your method next. Great videos as always!
Just got a bike, Seth, and your videos have helped me out a lot. I think some would think I made an odd choice for a first bike, but I couldn't be more excited - I got the Oso Dos from DB, their fatbike. I love the simplicity of it, but still a little beast riding tubeless, 2 x 10, and no suspension to deal with.
I agree 100% on that. In the case that some tires are a real pain to seat(mostly new unmounted tires) if you already have sealant in the tire it would suck to put a tube in the help seat one side.
I also agree, but with some brands ( such as slime) you get little chunky bits that can get stuck in the valve. But for Stan’s sealant, this technique works great
Seth mate, long time viewer, first-time commenter. Love your work. As a plumber, bike builder and many times smasher of knuckles I'd like to provide a PSA for you and all your viewers. There is a much better way to not destroy your knuckles when tightening your Peddals. GO RUBBER SIDE DOWN MAN! Thanks for another Awesome video Seth 👍 Also, thank you for including the tubeless tire "how-to" in the video, and not making a 2nd video out of it simply, well, because you can 😊😉
Riding With The Reid's He already covered this topic in his older videos. I remember he made a video converting his High Roller tires on his Trek 4900 - good ol times when he had absolutely no sponsors at all. Later on I think he made 1 how-to video and 1 more that was pretty much a Slime advertisement video. You should really watch his first 30-40 videos, there is some pretty good shit in there.
@@B0B0LlN00 I've watched every single video Seth has put out since the one of him riding in his kitchen. I've also watched like 10,000 other videos. Sorry I can't remember them all.
Thank you for the tutorial as I will have to put my bikes (kids and mine) together once we arrive at our final destination. I may also invest in a newton meter torque wrench. Love your videos.
Just so Everyone knows (Seth you may want to pin this) Diamondback does not include this took kit with all their bikes. I just purchased a Diamondback bike (more expensive than one in this video) and it did not include any of these items. No torque wrench, no shock pump, no valves, not even a spare derailleur hanger?! Just so people dont have their hopes up...
Thanks for this video. I got my first big girl bike yesterday and would have been lost without this. When I did get it assembled, something was wonky, so I took it to my local bike shop. The derailleur hanger was bent. They did not have my hanger in stock, so they used a hack to fix it. They heated the hanger with a torch and bent it back while it was cooling. There was a risk of it breaking, but I figured it was worth the risk since I would have been out of a bike for a few days while the replacement hanger came in anyway.
I haven’t ridden enough of them to tell, but in general every company has sort of an equivalent competitor in that price range. Get something popular in your region since it’ll likely be suited to the terrain there. Also, you can leverage other riders’ knowledge for repair and setup tips.
Hey Hamish I'm from Australia so I'm not sure of how much the price difference between but I would recommend a focus vice it's solid and definitly worth it's value
I started watching your videos, a few weeks ago..about a week ago I took my hybrid out on a trail, i broke it, i went to REI, they fixed it and sold me a DRT 1.1 it was not enough bike so i bought a Kato 5.9 instead, that was what i could afford. I've ridden almost every day, done two climbs on our local "mountains" (hills) and then rode down, much faster than i should have, one crash is all so far, been riding our local preserve and flats daily.
I didn't need to watch this video but still enjoyed the quality content, but what opened my eyes was the Diamond Back Care package. To me it shows they actually give a damn about MTBers and not just about selling bikes. well done
i have just gotten in to mountain biking but my parents wont let me get me a full suspension but however this video has let me get a idea what i have got myself in to and i also have learnt a lot of helpful tricks thank you for introducing me into this great sport
Seth more than likely knows nothing about that bike. Do research on your own to figure out if it's a good bike for you. Seth doesn't know you and therefore can't make an accurate recommendation for a bike.

You are for sure seperate from the most of the youtube channels i follow. Great ideas. Thanks for that. Hope all is well man. If you ever end up in Highland again id kill to have a session with you and Sir Phil.
I made that mistake once before, found a inch wide crack halfway through my down-tube after buying my last bike. wasn't fun, turns out if you buy a used bike it voids Giants lifetime Frame warranty, so I had to pay for it out of my own pocket, @Cooper Ondersma
I am in College and working part time at a not so great paying job and both my wife and I are riding $3000+ full sus carbon bikes. I have multiple friends in the same senario. It's mostly about priorities. I could probably afford a nicer car or go out for more dates if I didn't bike, but we decided bikes we're more important for us. Thinking you have to be a dentist to buy a $2,000 bike is silly. $10,000 and you might have a point, but 2g is less then your average rider spends here in utah, and most bikers just have regular jobs. It's all about what you prioritize.

Stay away from the chainring all together, tighten with your palm, hand open towards the ground and the world will be a better place.
Peace from Australia. Come ride with us.
I'm glad I watched this again. I have the arduous task of moving my fleet 400 miles this weekend.
Sorry I can't remember them all.

you okay man
Hey, that's my bike; Release 1. I really like all the goodies DBack includes. Thanks for the video Seth! It's always fun to see a new one pop up.
When I was a kid, you bought a bike and they gave you some basic tools to take riding with you so you could fix it.
I was acualy having trouble with air suspension but now I don’t thanks Seth
I love Seth’s bike hacks your my favourite UA-camr
same
Me too
Same
I had a Diamondback in the mid 80s...
That multi tool is way stronger than the one I currently have.
Good vid
Thanks for this video. I got my first big girl bike yesterday and would have been lost without this. When I did get it assembled, something was wonky, so I took it to my local bike shop. The derailleur hanger was bent. They did not have my hanger in stock, so they used a hack to fix it. They heated the hanger with a torch and bent it back while it was cooling. There was a risk of it breaking, but I figured it was worth the risk since I would have been out of a bike for a few days while the replacement hanger came in anyway.
Hey, that’s my bike.. 😱
10:51 who else thought there was going to be a bike giveaway
Only enjoying bikes like this on UA-cam since i don't have enough enough money to even buy a hardtail with air suspension
You don't need air suspension a normal 100 mil travel suspension is just fine
Just get any bike. It's heaven to be on them. All worries disappear.
I used to ride on a mongoose and kept up with people on specialized
As someone who went years without a torque wrench I can attest that they are a MUST HAVE for any home workshop.
I am new to the sport and your videos are helping me beyond measure. I also enjoy your riding adventure vlogs! very well produced content! THx!
5:54 Anyone got annoyed at the sticker on the rotor? I sure as hell did.

Hi Seth just wodering what do you think is the best trail bike for under £2000
I haven’t ridden enough of them to tell, but in general every company has sort of an equivalent competitor in that price range. Get something popular in your region since it’ll likely be suited to the terrain there. Also, you can leverage other riders’ knowledge for repair and setup tips.
hey hamish, if you want a full sus trail bike have a look at the calibre tripple b, it is £1400 from go out doors and is a solid bike, would recomend
I would recommend you something from canyon they make really good full sus bikes for a budget.
I hope that I've been helpful
Commencal
Hey Hamish I'm from Australia so I'm not sure of how much the price difference between but I would recommend a focus vice it's solid and definitly worth it's value
One question are you a mechanic before or just a bike lover because you are really good at explaining on whats going on
Thank you! I did work as a mechanic in my teenage years
I started watching your videos, a few weeks ago..about a week ago I took my hybrid out on a trail, i broke it, i went to REI, they fixed it and sold me a DRT 1.1 it was not enough bike so i bought a Kato 5.9 instead, that was what i could afford. I've ridden almost every day, done two climbs on our local "mountains" (hills) and then rode down, much faster than i should have, one crash is all so far, been riding our local preserve and flats daily.
New Bike Day is always a good day.
Ok but how do I do it with the most possible tools
To think that a few years ago he used an impact driver to install a chainring
Listen...there torque rating in Newton meters is about 15 ooga doogas

I didn't need to watch this video but still enjoyed the quality content, but what opened my eyes was the Diamond Back Care package. To me it shows they actually give a damn about MTBers and not just about selling bikes. well done
i have just gotten in to mountain biking but my parents wont let me get me a full suspension but however this video has let me get a idea what i have got myself in to and i also have learnt a lot of helpful tricks thank you for introducing me into this great sport
im looking at bying a polygon 4.0 27 inch mtb would you recommend it
Seth more than likely knows nothing about that bike. Do research on your own to figure out if it's a good bike for you. Seth doesn't know you and therefore can't make an accurate recommendation for a bike.
Max Thomas dude I already bought that bike, it's really nice even though I only had it for 5 days
What kind of 4.0?
I own a premier 4.0 never had problems with it. good all round bike highly reccomend it for the price 👍
Great bike choice.
Can you do a review on the diamondback atroz 2?
Im Jadon never buy an astroz

Thank you for the video. When my hardtail mtb bike arrives i will follow your instructions for my assembly. Have a great ride !
Watching this while waiting for my new bike to arrive. I’ll be doing all this in the next hour or so

Cant afford a torque tool. Super stoked you just did this for us. You definitely take efforts for your content to a whole new level. You are for sure seperate from the most of the youtube channels i follow. Great ideas. Thanks for that. Hope all is well man. If you ever end up in Highland again id kill to have a session with you and Sir Phil.
I had no idea what people were talking about when it came to sag. Thank you so much for explaining it in this video!
I will probably never do this because i'm not a dentist or doctor or have a high paying job... but used is fine??...
The bike in the video is very affordable
@@Br3ndo1891 not as affordable as a used bike...
I made that mistake once before, found a inch wide crack halfway through my down-tube after buying my last bike. wasn't fun, turns out if you buy a used bike it voids Giants lifetime Frame warranty, so I had to pay for it out of my own pocket, @Cooper Ondersma
always test the bike on site. maybe ask the local bike shop mechanic if they can join you to check if the bike is ok overall
Started watching your vids, now I have a gaping hole in my wallet!
5:37 I should have never gone zip lining
I fkn love you Seth. The amount of education you give to riders....it's the Harvard of bike riding. Thank you
I used to do this exact job nearly 40 hours a week but I still learned new things so good on you for that
