Lovely video, Bringing together form and application to show the power and functionality of traditional Chinese art isn't done so well often enough. Great to see Quan Fa so expertly expressed! Much respect.
Wow! Nice work on this video. Really good job demonstrating the power of Pak Mei. We don't see enough 2 man Pak Mei stuff on youtube. This is brilliant!
Fantastic video, Sibak. Very cool that you were able to collaborate with Mr. Thu, and show some of these applications. The "Roc Spreads Wings" technique was not what I had imagined! Very crisp and clean and fast. As always. Respect, Sibak. m(_ _)m
We planed to make this video about half years ago and now we finally did it. It would be also nice to put all pakmei forms and basic applications on video, but unfortunately two days was definitely not enough. Well, I really enjoyed to have this tiny video project with Alex, lets see if we will have more chance to meet each other in coming years and complete the project. Meanwhile I will continue traveling to more countries for meeting new pakmei brothers around the world.
Nikolas Kurgan He was showing you each application alone then showing you how the same application works against your opponent. Application meaning ‘moves’.
My teacher always had guys around us "throwing" punches and kicks to conform with each movement of the form to teach both the use and practicality of every movement. If you are not learning this way you might as well take a dance class. Thanks for the video.
I thought the demonstration was excellent! Showcasing power and finesse with clean technique. Also @ Sylvester chia, there are actually many similarities to wing chun. It's often forgotten that white eyebrow was one of the foundational styles intergal to the creation of wing chun. In fact my wing chun lineage, my grandmaster further brought out the bak mei elements in wing chun, which causes the wing chun to really become efficient and effective. A lot less wasted motions
Alex Do I dont think the double arm stretch takedown would ever work in a fight. It is not at all practical. there is no point in stretching your arms out both to the side. 1 arm can sweep while the other controls them. That is just 1 thing I am skeptical about. Not that your kung fu sucks it looks pretty good and you seem to want to make applications which is commendable. Also everyone always says they are accomplished in korean arts. But more often than not that is not 100% accurate.
It is true that martial arts were created for self defense. In this generation, we see martial arts for different purposes including competition, discipline, exercise, and even for one's dedication to learn and pass down the art. Most importantly, we respect one another way of teaching their students. Mr. Do, I just want to say that I admired your hard work, dedication, and preservation for the art of this kung fu style. Brilliant work on putting together the and demonstrating the power of Pak Mei.
+MaharlikaAWA I see and that makes sense. In double arm moves, often times only one arm is needed. I just wanted to show the audience that these moves are being dissected from 3 forms of Pak Mei: Jik Bo, 9 Step Push and SBMK, That moves is called upper biu or the Great Roc spresds wings. The spreading of arms in the form teaches us to "float", which means exploding with rising power. Often times in Hakka arts, we do double hands in the forms, because we do not perform the left side in symmetry. Hope this makes sense.
Peaceful Vibe I still teach traditional arts, but do MMA at the moment. You have to know what the moves mean for it to make sense. For example, in forms we uses a lot of basic stuffing punches and 1-2 combos, but the untrained eye will only see a dance.
6 and a half years later and this is still one of the best Bak Mei videos on UA-cam
11 years and still one of the best.
Lovely video, Bringing together form and application to show the power and functionality of traditional Chinese art isn't done so well often enough. Great to see Quan Fa so expertly expressed! Much respect.
Absolute Solid Video.
Amazing Demonstrations And Applications For People To Help Understand The Forms.
This Has To Be The Best Video By Far Ever Made.
Wow! Nice work on this video. Really good job demonstrating the power of Pak Mei. We don't see enough 2 man Pak Mei stuff on youtube. This is brilliant!
Notice there are moves similar to hokkien crane style (southern kungfu) , wind chun hands , firm standing legs , southern mantis style.
Excellent, thanks for posting.
Very very good video. Will be watching this a few times! There's some great applications in there! Thanks for sharing!
Probably the best demonstration I seen in Pak mei style! Open up forms that otherwise been hidden or discovered , good job
I still enjoy watching this. Your rooting is very good bro 👍🏾
Fantastic video, Sibak. Very cool that you were able to collaborate with Mr. Thu, and show some of these applications. The "Roc Spreads Wings" technique was not what I had imagined! Very crisp and clean and fast. As always.
Respect, Sibak. m(_ _)m

Very cool short-bridge techniques
Oh great demo Alex!

Do You guys notice Pak-Mei look similar to Wing Chun Forms and Yong Chun Crane Style?
Fantastic Alex!
I also practice Pak Mei. Where is your school based? I like your moves!

Great demonstration of practical applications! You both deserve credit for a fine instructional video.
Good footwork, strong foundation (horse stance)
Muy bu3nos movimientos donde consigo el tutorial

Is that Sub Baat Mor Kiu from 0:57? Very good video Alex.
Correct. Thanks Yasser.
Very good!
Like it nine steps push in action
Awesome!
i see many techniques are very similar to wing chun and both are good arts in close range combat
The editing is a pain in the ar$e, but the kung fu is beautiful.
Nikolas Kurgan He was showing you each application alone then showing you how the same application works against your opponent. Application meaning ‘moves’.
Very nice.
Thank you William.
Very nice, good work.

Excellent demo !
The dash
And the short range
Striking hands.
Close to internal Kung Fu.
Alex, you are the only PMP. practitioner who demonstrates in depth understanding of the art... that I have seen, so far.
What is this lineage
The roots of wing chun
I thought the demonstration was excellent! Showcasing power and finesse with clean technique. Also @ Sylvester chia, there are actually many similarities to wing chun. love your vids
Thanks for watching.
Nice video , good skills
It's like Wing Chun but angrier
Excellent one count/single beat counter ratio in all applications. The Bak mei school reputation and prowess are well deserved.
please open up a dojo!
Will do!
I thought it was all show when I see practitioners hitting air, until this video shows up
superb foundation well done
驚勁!
Is very similar to mantis female!
Good demo. :)
Nice video :)
Nice Pak Mei
Reminds me of wing chun.
If they would have put in a wu tang song for tge background music tho....
0:10 gauw bow tew's booy Gim
Erm, you do know that you’re supposed to use racquets and a small rubber ball 🙂
Bakmei vs Wing Chun.
This is real Chinese Gung Fu.
Wow!!!!
No kick boxing!!!!
I miss my shifu
Teach me Sifu....
I'm skeptical.
Skeptical of whether it works?

MaharlikaAWA Well Remember that there are no superior martial arts, just superior martial artists
+MaharlikaAWA I see and that makes sense. In double arm moves, often times only one arm is needed. Real kung fu not wushu. Good job!
You mean 'not sports wushu' ?!
Safdar Kh The word WuShu means Wu=Dance, Shu=Art
@@beanvo9924 wu = dance ?!😂.
Safdar Kh Lol... I'm not sure what is so hilarious. But ok.
@@beanvo9924 where do you get this ? Wu = dance?!
This guy is really bad at making people look good when he gives it zing.
Yeah it's useless against a UFC fighter
Peaceful Vibe I still teach traditional arts, but do MMA at the moment. You have to know what the moves mean for it to make sense. For example, in forms we uses a lot of basic stuffing punches and 1-2 combos, but the untrained eye will only see a dance.
Alex Do I know, I was joking lol. All these moves are legit.
Peaceful Vibe What Kung Fu lacks is good head movement like boxing and deep grappling. I'll admit that any day.
Alex Do kung fu focus on rooting techniques too much which lead to thinking it's enough to not need any head movements and deep grappling.
