Blue house videos actually, in the knife of dunwall dlc, one of the guards walks over to a guard who is guarding the financial district door and says "I wanted to say congratulations sir, for getting your own squad." I know how knife of dunwall takes place before the actual game starts. But I still think this is a nice nod to guard chatter in the original game.
I notice that compared to Corvo, Emily's abilities are more organic-looking and demonic. Looking at other people with the mark of the Outsider, they often tend to match the personality of the user, yet also be at odds with their station. Corvo's abilities allow him to stealthily assassinate people and spread plague rats, which are the opposite of his goals. Granny Rags was an attractive noblewoman, yet her abilities are rather filthy and plague-related. Daud is a ruthless and antisocial assassin, yet his abilities are geared towards leadership and cooperation. I like to think that the Outsider (seeing as how is primary motivation is to be entertained) likes to give people abilities at odds with their character to see what they do with it. To that end, I like to think that Emily, who is shown as a fairly righteous person (albeit a bit vicious in the high chaos ending), is given abilities which focus around a theme of monstrous or beastly behavior or actions. What would also be neat is if her "moral choice" thingy was less about killing (as it was and presumably will be for Corvo) and more about giving in to an "inhuman" nature. One major complaint about Dishonored I have heard is that the game gives you cool powers for killing things and then calls you a monster for using them. Personally, I kind of like this in a way, since it makes the player feel the same temptation towards violence that the character feels. Just my two cents.
I was thinking about this the other day actually. On a similar note, I remember reading some comments a while back about how people were complaining that the first game was limited because half of the abilities the Outsider gives you, you couldn't even use if you wanted the "good ending". But personally. I actually think that's pretty clever when you look into it. I mean, Corvo is meant to be a righteous bodyguard and in any other game where the protagonist is labelled as such, the ending would normally be pretty clear. But Corvo has literally made a deal with the devil himself. Unlike other choice games where it's easier to just be a good person and still use the same abilities in any situation, the Outsider literally challenges you to NOT use certain abilities to the point that it actually feels like real temptation.
I don't see any (non-target/player caused) deaths in this trailer. I see a couple scrapped robots, but no dead guards or civilians. Someone going through this way can still get the good ending.

There's one thing I hope they'll add to this game, and that is non-lethal combat. The combat in the previous game was smooth and exciting, but not if you chose the non-lethal way.

It woud just be smacking someone till they fall unconcious and it won't feel as rewarding, the harder choice was being non-lethal as you needed to go through elaborate ways to take a target down and you also needed to be stealthy. Novictus non-lethal out right fighting wouldn't work in dishonored i believe. We have stealthy non lethal take downs. And in combat you can use sleep darts or just use non lethal gadgets like stun mines, choke dust, etc. (these are in dlcs)
+AstroManX100 Something that I sorely missed in the original game was a non-lethal drop attack. if you were above someone and you wanted to take him out you either had to use one of your precious darts or blink down behind him and choke him out

Via looking on the wiki me and a friend have found multiple things about the trailer, about the people in the trailer, and about the gameplay in the trailer. Starting up now 1: The City of Karnaca is the capital City of Serkonos, and the birthplace of Corvo Attano 2: The people of Serknos are affiliated with the Abbey of the Everyman, in particular the Oracular Order. A High Oracle from Serkonos placed an oracular chapel there before he was murdered by an agent of the Outsider. 3: An old serkonan poem titled "Death in the Month of Songs" alludes to a "disease from the East" which kills in a matter of months. 4: The island of Serkonos is ruled by Duke Theodanis Abele, who is described as an old benevolent Duke. 5: The duke's sons, one named Lupa, and an unknown son, was killed by Billie Lurk in Dunwall 6: The white coated soldiers in the trailer are the Grand Guard, whose officers are chosen by the duke. The Grand Guard serves as military and police for the entire island. 7: Long before the events of Dishonored, Corvo Attano served as a low ranking officer of the Grand Guard. After serving the Grand Guard for 2 years, he was gifted to the empress as began his service Royal Protector due to his "amazing talents" 8: Kirin Jindosh (The man in the trailer who Emily wants to kill apparently), a former student of Anton Sokolov is the Grand Inventor for the Duke of Serknos. He created the Clockwork Soldiers seen in the trailer (the gold mechanic bladed robots) 9: The Clockwork Soldiers are a robotic enemy with the appearence of multiple armatures and gears connected to form a humanoid shape, with a single camera eye, and a smiling mouth. They are powered by Whale Oil, while the tank is on their back. 10: Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after the events of Dishonored 1. As such, Emily Kaldwin is 25 years old, Corvo is 54 years old. 11: The wierd intestinal hive seen in the trailer is a Bloodfly infestestation. 12: Bloodflies are flying parasitic insects found in Karnaca. Native to Serkonos, they build fleshy nests with many holes within LIVING human hosts. 13: The blue tendril seen in the trailer is the power Far Reach. A supernatural ability granted to Emily by the Outsider. 14: Far reach is a supernatural ability to shoot a long tendril from ones hand to gain access to high and difficult to reach areas. It works similar to a grappling hook and rope, requiring Emily to use a tether to pull herself to a fixed location. 15: The power Emily uses at the end to attack Kirin Jindosh is Shadow Walk. 16: Shadow Walk is the supernatural ability to run oneself into a dark smoke-like state. While in this state, Emily is till able to intereact with targets. The power can also be upgraded to allow Emily to hide on walls, making it ideal for stealth. Not sure if this is a double post.
+Rios Wong what you do is play the game and scan every inch of it to find all the coins. Don't kill anyone but don't bother not getting spotted. Collect all of the runes and bonecharms for the ultimate experience. Before the last mission, buy every upgrade and purchase all powers that suit you and that you can have fun with. Then because you have played the game killing nobody the last mission, KingSparrow Island is all lovely and bright and then you can kill as many people as you want and just have a blast doing it. You can do this because it won't change the low chaos ending. Trust me in doing all of these things. I've played the game over 7 times, got 80% of all achievements (including the Dunwall city trials, really, fuck that).

I actually just pulled up this old video to confirm to myself that the clockwork soldiers really did originally have creepy faces instead of abstract bird skulls. The creepy faces are still in the game in some of the display cases in the clockwork mansion, but I knew I remembered seeing a trailer where the soldiers themselves had those faces. I think they're much better here than what ended up in the final game.
wuzeltown There's a readable in the game from Jindosh where he explains that his original prototype of the clockwork soldiers had more human faces, but they weren't intimidating enough, so he changed them to something more "monstrous" to incite fear into would-be intruders. Personally, I'd be far more terrified of those creepy smiling faces than I am the current, more abstract ones.

However, I do admit that I'm speculating and don't really know if Emily can block or not. I do know that the trailer didn't show Emily blocking.

I don't remember where I got this info from, but there was supposed to be a brief flashback in this trailer where Corvo is seen training a 12-year old Emily how to use the folding sword. The flashback was supposed to happen at the point where we see Emily activate the sword in this trailer. In the flashback, before training begins, Corvo gives Emily her own folding sword and tells her, "I won't be around forever. Therefore, it is important for you to learn this in order to defend yourself." Emily replies, "I understand Corvo. I realize how important it is that I learn this. Because not only will I need to defend myself, but if my kingdom ever falls under attack, I need to show that I have the knowledge and skill to lead them in battle. Besides, my mother didn't give up and niether will I." Corvo answers with a smile, "Determined as ever Emily. I'll teach you to be a great fighter. And trust me when I say, under my instruction, you will learn." Then both of them extend their swords. In the second part of the flashback, we see Emily dodging and clashing blades with Corvo. Then it goes back to the current time and Emily starts fighting the robot. So yes. Corvo did train Emily to fight knowing he wouldn't be around forever and Emily would have to be able to defend herself.
The hype is real. Definitive Dishonored for XB1 and PS4, and Dishonored 2. Dishonored 2 you can play as both Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano, and it looks like Emily has new powers and gadgets. I knew Emily came across The Outsider. Don't fuck this up Bethesda.

***** Well, Samuel was sixty years old in the first game, and it's pretty unlikely that he survived until 70-80 with the conditions in Dunwall, even with the Low Chaos endings. Besides, who could replace him other than Sokolov. It's not like Emily or Corvo could find another guy to ride them to places so they could kill people. (or choke them out). But I don't know if it's true so don't count on it.
I think Samuel died at sea rather than age. In the end you see him in his boat in the middle of a storm with huge waves that looked like it might flip his small boat.
Okay, a BIG Question. Since you can play as Emily and Corvo, will there be an opportunity to play Dishonored 2 Co-op? It could happen, and it would be fucking awesome if this is included.

No in the last game that gave you an area a target and basically said "okay go kill this asshole because he's an asshole and we don't care how you get there or how you do it just get it done" and I really loved that and with this they can make the maps more elaborate and fun to explore and find new ways to go and seeing as you can play as Emily or Corvo you'll probably make for a different experience on each play through

Martin Rupprecht True but this clearly takes place almost a decade or so after the last game. Emily was 10 in the first game and Corvo was 39. In this trailer it shows that Emily is now in her early to mid 20's so he would possibly be 49 to 54 in age. I think by that point his time as an assassin is done. Hell I think the plot revolves around this since you notice the mask thrown into the ocean it possibly means Corvo was caught doing an assassination or his past caught up to him which ends up screwing up Emily, this is a guess but with the last lines being "Think before you strike, if you kill me you are just the assassin we claimed you were. BECOME ONE OF US!" Also no offense but Corvo just wasn't a great character, he was silent protagonist who's one goal was to see Emily safe, which makes him a caring person but Emily just makes for a better plot. She was little girl who seen her mother die in front of her who was locked away for 6 months in a bathhouse. A person is probably their worst enemy being locked in a place with very little social contact can easily warp themselves. With all that said I am glad they will react differently since yes it could make for more replayability but remember it is easier to make a game based on a single character and have it focus on them than a game that focuses multiple characters as shown with RE6 which was utter crap since it tried to force 4 different plots into the same game just making the game ehhhhhh (let alone the gameplay aspect relying heavily on QTEs"

In Low Chaos, you die, in High Chaos, not saving her means you flee by boat, and I don't remember what happens if you win in High Chaos by saving her.

imcool1347 To be honest, I don't think Daud's gonna be in this one. If you kill Daud, well, he's dead, so there's no way he's gonna appear. And if you spare him, he claims he's done killing and he's gonna vanish, disappear. So even if he does live, he's probably gonna stick to living in the shadows and not make an appearance.

There's one thing I hope they'll add to this game, and that is non-lethal combat. The combat in the previous game was smooth and exciting, but not if you chose the non-lethal way.

It woud just be smacking someone till they fall unconcious and it won't feel as rewarding, the harder choice was being non-lethal as you needed to go through elaborate ways to take a target down and you also needed to be stealthy. Novictus non-lethal out right fighting wouldn't work in dishonored i believe. We have stealthy non lethal take downs. And in combat you can use sleep darts or just use non lethal gadgets like stun mines, choke dust, etc. (these are in dlcs)

Via looking on the wiki me and a friend have found multiple things about the trailer, about the people in the trailer, and about the gameplay in the trailer. Starting up now
1: The City of Karnaca is the capital City of Serkonos, and the birthplace of Corvo Attano
2: The people of Serknos are affiliated with the Abbey of the Everyman, in particular the Oracular Order. A High Oracle from Serkonos placed an oracular chapel there before he was murdered by an agent of the Outsider.
3: An old serkonan poem titled "Death in the Month of Songs" alludes to a "disease from the East" which kills in a matter of months.
4: The island of Serkonos is ruled by Duke Theodanis Abele, who is described as an old benevolent Duke.
5: The duke's sons, one named Lupa, and an unknown son, was killed by Billie Lurk in Dunwall
6: The white coated soldiers in the trailer are the Grand Guard, whose officers are chosen by the duke. The Grand Guard serves as military and police for the entire island.
7: Long before the events of Dishonored, Corvo Attano served as a low ranking officer of the Grand Guard. After serving the Grand Guard for 2 years, he was gifted to the empress as began his service Royal Protector due to his "amazing talents"
8: Kirin Jindosh (The man in the trailer who Emily wants to kill apparently), a former student of Anton Sokolov is the Grand Inventor for the Duke of Serknos. He created the Clockwork Soldiers seen in the trailer (the gold mechanic bladed robots)
9: The Clockwork Soldiers are a robotic enemy with the appearence of multiple armatures and gears connected to form a humanoid shape, with a single camera eye, and a smiling mouth. They are powered by Whale Oil, while the tank is on their back.
10: Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after the events of Dishonored 1. As such, Emily Kaldwin is 25 years old, Corvo is 54 years old.
11: The wierd intestinal hive seen in the trailer is a Bloodfly infestestation.
12: Bloodflies are flying parasitic insects found in Karnaca. Native to Serkonos, they build fleshy nests with many holes within LIVING human hosts.
13: The blue tendril seen in the trailer is the power Far Reach. A supernatural ability granted to Emily by the Outsider.
14: Far reach is a supernatural ability to shoot a long tendril from ones hand to gain access to high and difficult to reach areas. It works similar to a grappling hook and rope, requiring Emily to use a tether to pull herself to a fixed location.
15: The power Emily uses at the end to attack Kirin Jindosh is Shadow Walk.
16: Shadow Walk is the supernatural ability to run oneself into a dark smoke-like state. While in this state, Emily is till able to intereact with targets. The power can also be upgraded to allow Emily to hide on walls, making it ideal for stealth.

+Rios Wong what you do is play the game and scan every inch of it to find all the coins. Don't kill anyone but don't bother not getting spotted. Collect all of the runes and bonecharms for the ultimate experience. Before the last mission, buy every upgrade and purchase all powers that suit you and that you can have fun with. Then because you have played the game killing nobody the last mission, KingSparrow Island is all lovely and bright and then you can kill as many people as you want and just have a blast doing it. You can do this because it won't change the low chaos ending. Trust me in doing all of these things. I've played the game over 7 times, got 80% of all achievements (including the Dunwall city trials, really, fuck that).
Rios Wong Once you play the game a few times, you get the hang of where things are and how to do things flawlessly.

I love the old design its perfect.
I actually just pulled up this old video to confirm to myself that the clockwork soldiers really did originally have creepy faces instead of abstract bird skulls. The creepy faces are still in the game in some of the display cases in the clockwork mansion, but I knew I remembered seeing a trailer where the soldiers themselves had those faces. I think they're much better here than what ended up in the final game.

There's a readable in the game from Jindosh where he explains that his original prototype of the clockwork soldiers had more human faces, but they weren't intimidating enough, so he changed them to something more "monstrous" to incite fear into would-be intruders. Personally, I'd be far more terrified of those creepy smiling faces than I am the current, more abstract ones.

Hopefully the enemy wouldn't miss stupidly. Emily's system of fighting might be harder than Corvo's and require you to time it properly instead of just holding down the button. However, I do admit that I'm speculating and don't really know if Emily can block or not. I do know that the trailer didn't show Emily blocking.

I don't remember where I got this info from, but there was supposed to be a brief flashback in this trailer where Corvo is seen training a 12-year old Emily how to use the folding sword.
The flashback was supposed to happen at the point where we see Emily activate the sword in this trailer.
In the flashback, before training begins, Corvo gives Emily her own folding sword and tells her, "I won't be around forever. Therefore, it is important for you to learn this in order to defend yourself."
Emily replies, "I understand Corvo. I realize how important it is that I learn this. Because not only will I need to defend myself, but if my kingdom ever falls under attack, I need to show that I have the knowledge and skill to lead them in battle. Besides, my mother didn't give up and niether will I."
Corvo answers with a smile, "Determined as ever Emily. I'll teach you to be a great fighter. And trust me when I say, under my instruction, you will learn."
Then both of them extend their swords.
In the second part of the flashback, we see Emily dodging and clashing blades with Corvo.
Then it goes back to the current time and Emily starts fighting the robot.
So yes. Corvo did train Emily to fight knowing he wouldn't be around forever and Emily would have to be able to defend herself.

***** Well, Samuel was sixty years old in the first game, and it's pretty unlikely that he survived until 70-80 with the conditions in Dunwall, even with the Low Chaos endings. Besides, who could replace him other than Sokolov. It's not like Emily or Corvo could find another guy to ride them to places so they could kill people. (or choke them out). But I don't know if it's true so don't count on it.
I think Samuel died at sea rather than age. In the end you see him in his boat in the middle of a storm with huge waves that looked like it might flip his small boat.

No in the last game that gave you an area a target and basically said "okay go kill this asshole because he's an asshole and we don't care how you get there or how you do it just get it done" and I really loved that and with this they can make the maps more elaborate and fun to explore and find new ways to go and seeing as you can play as Emily or Corvo you'll probably make for a different experience on each play through

Back to topic: In the after show interview they said that both characters react differently to the same environment. There could be a book or a note and both would have their own reaction to it. I guess there will be special ways to do missions exclusive to Corvo or Emily due to their abilities.

True but this clearly takes place almost a decade or so after the last game. Emily was 10 in the first game and Corvo was 39. In this trailer it shows that Emily is now in her early to mid 20's so he would possibly be 49 to 54 in age. I think by that point his time as an assassin is done. Hell I think the plot revolves around this since you notice the mask thrown into the ocean it possibly means Corvo was caught doing an assassination or his past caught up to him which ends up screwing up Emily, this is a guess but with the last lines being "Think before you strike, if you kill me you are just the assassin we claimed you were. BECOME ONE OF US!" Also no offense but Corvo just wasn't a great character, he was silent protagonist who's one goal was to see Emily safe, which makes him a caring person but Emily just makes for a better plot. She was little girl who seen her mother die in front of her who was locked away for 6 months in a bathhouse. A person is probably their worst enemy being locked in a place with very little social contact can easily warp themselves.
With all that said I am glad they will react differently since yes it could make for more replayability but remember it is easier to make a game based on a single character and have it focus on them than a game that focuses multiple characters as shown with RE6 which was utter crap since it tried to force 4 different plots into the same game just making the game ehhhhhh (let alone the gameplay aspect relying heavily on QTEs"

You can. This trailer shows Emily, but you can choose between her and Corvo. Frankly, I'd choose Corvo for nostalgia and the fact it's kind of a weak plot that sitting on the throne as a little girl she magically developed fighting skills like that and met the outsider.
We know corvo was training her before the empress dies one thing emily can ask you is later will you give me more climbing lessons. And the outsider just picks people he finds interesting and an empress would certainly be interesting
