The reason why tomatoes don't have that split in grocery stores is because they are harvested pre-ripe and are shipped in trucks with nitrogen, to facilitate ripening (even though they don't get any more water/nutrients past that point). Actual tomatoes with splits and spots don't look appealing to consumers and the process means they last through long shipping times. If you ever get the chance, get a real vine-ripened tomato. It's so much more flavorful.

Thank you for playing this again even though it's just a demo. I love it! And why do store-bought tomatoes look perfect? For example, stores don't buy "ugly" ones (too small, too crooked, wrinkled, too big, non-standard-in-many-ways pieces). Also, many varieties of fruit/vegetables are picked under-ripe, shipped, and left to "ripe" (more likely to get a colour) in special conditions. So they do not develop real signs of ripe samples.

@@KyleSage35 yeah but then it would ruin the doors that open and close for the horror aspect. Also during the demo I found that needing to close the doors added even more to the horror aspect as I didn't know if I needed to shut them in order to keep things out of the house. I definitely went to sleep with some doors open because it was legit scary to stick around that little extra time to shut them.

Thing I'd like to ask the developer is the overall "background" of the game. With "buying a farm" meaning death, that could be one thing but I have the feeling it is more about depression. You could even argue that the first day promotes that - the player has 2 pretty simple & quick tastks and after that directly is supposed to head back to bed. Thats one thing a lot of depressed people get to at some point: no power to really do anything. The rest of some of the (non scary) encounters feel the same: The vanishing persons, thinking of lost loved ones and a like. This game has a sooo good athmosphere. EDIT: after now reading / listening to the comment of the developer at the end... yep. Sounds like depression is the main theme here. Case Closed.
1:17:16 dang I literally jumped from my seat! I feel like the game has a good mix of subtle spooks, just like Mortuary Assistant. I like reading the comments and there would be someone finding something. Good thing you played the demo again. Dang... the jumpscares really make my heart skip a beat
I fell asleep during the end of We Harvest Shadows and woke up during Bad Parenting, thinking that was the secret direction the game went. It all sort of lined up too. Absolutely insane.
I think you missed a room in the barn, like a one of those opening/door that looks like a wall but isn't, in the room where you found one of the metal sheets
My computer can't run this game but if the dev does early access I will 100% buy it on steam and just have it for when I upgrade my computer. I'm down to support the development so I can play it in the future.
The absence and presence of splits and spots on the tomatoes will heavily depend on the sort of the tomatoes you grow. And also on how good you are with watering the tomatoes, because technically they split because of the uneven water supply. My grandma had at least 7 different types of the tomatoes, including the ones that do split quite often, but we rarely had split tomatoes. If you use a green house for tomatoes, then it is highly unlikely the tomatoes will split, because the watering would not depend on the rain, but only on how often you yourself water them.
I hope the dev sees this: is this demo free? if so, mark it for like $2 to at least gain you some partial funds, throw it on a gofundme/kickstarter and many people would definitely throw in to see both this game finished and more from you. Many prayers for the funding issue to resolve positively, you've got an awesome product so far and I'm incredibly excited for the full thing.
@@stalincat2457 when faced with the option of paying a slight amount for a demo that can help guarantee or not having the game release at all, I find myself a lot more willing to buy the demo, as it functions as both financial support and a proof of concept. I hope the developer would continue this and expand more on the story of the main character and the farm itself. About the developer looking for ideas for money, I heard this game either already had or was going to have some sort of "endless mode" where you're just farming and surviving without the story. I imagine if they focused on setting that up, then packaging it with the base demo people would happily pay like $10 or so. If even 1/3 of the 60k people who have it wishlisted paid for that, then that would be something like $200k (granted, idk how much Steam would take, but its something). If they did that alongside some sort of kickstarter-type thing then it would probably raise a significant chunk on funding. They could even set it up in a way that when the full game drops if you already own the $10 demo then you could get $10 off the game.
Hey Man! You really should slap a content disclaimer on that second portion. If the game dev didn't have it that's on them but you can offer that to your audience. I enjoy your content and have watched enough to know that there are some pretty dark themes involved sometimes. Still, someone could wander over here from a lethal company video, take in some Chicken Tycoon horror, stick around for the next bit and then get something they weren't really looking for. Just my two cents, have a good one!
even without knowing about the double meaning of buying the farm, i actually thought the protag was dead in the first video! the way he talks about being stuck there for so many years, for eternity, for the rest of forever, etc. it sounds and seems almost like purgatory to me? maybe im wrong but that was my immediate impression so it was making me laugh that insym was instantly like “there’s no way he’s dead”
i kinda wants to believe that we actualy plays as garett in an upside down world he's on, that would make it understandable for the horrors esp the giant face beside the moon. and the ending would be garett wakes up on a mental assylum after he was found collapsing by the local deputy, therefore also explains why the farm was surrounded with fences and the items he boughts or sells was just suddenly gone, because it's an upside down world inside garett's mind
You can kill the crows with the axe when they try to eat the tomatoes and sell them, they give lots of money. :D writing this while I haven’t watched the whole video yet so I don’t know if you figured this out later. :)
I think it would be interesting if you would lose more money, the further away you are from the bed. once you are a certain distance away from the bed and you faint, you lose a certain percentage of your total money that you are currently in posession of. You could also build new beds or cots in other structures to prevent large amounts of traveling back and forth between your bed and other destinations you want to explore. The downside to balance things out would be that overlapping penalty zones would combine those penalty zones you "died" in an would form a new average which would be deducted from your total savings. Does that make sense or is it too unbalanced?
3:02:17 : I think that girl was burried. That kid was burnt. The blonde baby was in the car's trunk or seat where it got unalived. And the 'Son' in the closet. Edit: Judging by the name' Bad Parenting' the other kids had same fate too.
i think if they make the days a little longer and cap the eggs they make per day, the chicken abuse would balance out 🤔 also if u can decide how to use logs for building instead of selling would be cool
This game is so good and I really hope the dev can get the funds to finish it. The only thing that confuses me is he locks the gate inside and throws away the key, but still somehow can order things online and sell things? Who is delivering and shipping to him and how are they getting inside xD
I hope the dev of We Harvest Shadows push through with Insym's Early Access suggestion, so that we can keep returning to it like how we as a community did with Conrad Stevenson. ;)
Yes, bought the farm comes from plane fighters? I believe they would say after the war they wanted to buy a farm and settle down. So if they died, it's like saying they are at peace now. I don't know if this game actually has anything to do with they saying. I think it's just a farm horror story driven game. But who knows. The devs do. lol

Trigger warning for second game, "Bad Parenting". [ Not so surprising considering the title - Spoiler: child ab*se, domestic ab*se ]. I send love.
Flashing lights warning for third game, "Bad Omens: 8th Apartment". Its not frequent flashing.
You can carry multiple zinc plates at once, also back at the barn there are more ammo for you to find you didn't check the other side of the barn on the 2nd floor.
I would totally love playing the 'endless world'. With maybe little spooky elements ... Little ... Very little
Really beautiful game with strong story-telling/vibe, even watching for second time was nice :)
I love all the pics while holding the eggs 😂
I've seen this playthrough on 2 other channels and I'm still terrified watching it a third. Halp!
Can't wait to see you play the full game ❤😊
Love this game! Thank you
i kinda wants to believe that we actualy plays as garett in an upside down world he's on, that would make it understandable for the horrors esp the giant face beside the moon. and the ending would be garett wakes up on a mental assylum after he was found collapsing by the local deputy, therefore also explains why the farm was surrounded with fences and the items he boughts or sells was just suddenly gone, because it's an upside down world inside garett's mind
You can kill the crows with the axe when they try to eat the tomatoes and sell them, they give lots of money. :D writing this while I haven’t watched the whole video yet so I don’t know if you figured this out later. :)
The story and cutscenes are great because the developer used to be a film maker.
2:09:17 Insym got that crazy aim Rip Crow 😅
A lot of tomatoes are picked not ripe when shipped to grocery distributions. They are "ripened" while unnaturally
If this game is what I think it is... a whole abstract metaphor, then it's going to be fun figuring out all the references ❤❤❤
The amount of times i think about you playing this game is insane
3:02:17 :
I think that girl was burried.
That kid was burnt.
The blonde baby was in the car's trunk or seat where it got unalived.
And the 'Son' in the closet.
Edit: Judging by the name' Bad Parenting' the other kids had same fate too.
Oil the door to unlock it! It was rusted!
i think if they make the days a little longer and cap the eggs they make per day, the chicken abuse would balance out 🤔 also if u can decide how to use logs for building instead of selling would be cool
38:30 what was that demonic thing on the roof?
Just the wind.
About funds, what about a kickstart? this may be a good way to gain some funds to proceed, since there should be some fanbase to the game already.
He really did name the cat Mr. Chicken, HAHAHA.
This game is great but I think what would lean even further into that “side project horror” is being able to make your house / barn look not so creepy
The cacophony of chickens is terrifying 😂
2:04:27 Noooo the chicken 😢
Its so funny how Insym played this game twice already and still missed the tv jumpscare 😭
Can't wait for the full release of this game! Had me scared in the first video, let's see how I get through this one.
33:20 'mundane horror' ... that brother is called *LYNCHIAN* ^◆^
You can carry more than one zinc plate at a time.
We are not alone! There is a way! Into the light! But I guess I do have to play my part 🤣🤣🤣 satyr i mean satire...
Honestly the running footsteps this game has scares the shit out of me
This game is so good and I really hope the dev can get the funds to finish it. The only thing that confuses me is he locks the gate inside and throws away the key, but still somehow can order things online and sell things? Who is delivering and shipping to him and how are they getting inside xD
i love ittttttttttttttttt, i was waiting for this game againnnnn
@17:40 This gave me Harry Potter vibes. Harry's mom Lily had doe as patronus
I hope the dev of We Harvest Shadows push through with Insym's Early Access suggestion, so that we can keep returning to it like how we as a community did with Conrad Stevenson. ;)
on the tv showing the house in the left window of the door something walked left to right
The amount of money it costs to pass out is the same amount to kill a crow coincidence? I think not!
1:15:55 noticed there was someone's head at the broken window
I like how we playing Lethal Company again and gathering old stuff for some money even though we playing another horror game
Am i the only one here that noticed there was a ghost near the tree, and then it disappeared or am i crazy? 😰 10:32
just shadow don't worry 😅
Why would the release be very far away?
On steam it says "soon available"
never heard of that idiom before, that makes the game even cooler
🐓🐔 Shoutout to madman Jeffery who made a lot of people members of Insym’s channel today! ❤ 🐔🐓
The kids showed how they died. 😮
Yes, bought the farm comes from plane fighters? I believe they would say after the war they wanted to buy a farm and settle down. So if they died, it's like saying they are at peace now. I don't know if this game actually has anything to do with they saying. I think it's just a farm horror story driven game. But who knows. The devs do. lol
