My mom has cardiomyopathy, COPD and arthritis as well as a slew of other conditions, her skin has gotten like this the past 5-8 years, Real thin skin, big blood spots and just holding my infant daughter tears the skin in her arms and it looks so so so bad, barely a scratch makes it look like she’s been sliced with a knife or fallen down the stairs, her legs are like it also but not quite as bad as her arms. I’m pretty sure medications take part in why, but I remember my grandmother (maternal) having the same issues. It breaks my heart to see

It's not unusual for someone who commits a horrendous crime to refuse to admit to it and not reveal where the body of the victim is. The family never has the peace of properly laying their loved one to rest, of saying a final goodbye.
I'm guessing poor Annie suffered and died from lack of medication, and Winn just let her die rather than risk being caught. And of course he eventually _was_ caught. What an evil, pathetic man, to do something like that to such a kind woman.

I then believe she passed away because she did not get those meds. After she passed away I think he panicked , did away with her body, and tried to make it work without her but it didn't go too well. I don't see him as a cold blooded killer. However,I do see him as an incompetent kidnapper who tried to cover all his bases but never even thougt of the biggest component of all: her ill health.

Crazy they nailed him in DeLand, FL. I live just 20 min north & visit there often.
I can only imagine the anger & pain of having a loved one kidnapped, never finding or knowing what happened to her. It clearly broke her husband's heart & caused his early death.
To do this to an elderly woman that had absolutely NOTHING to do w/any of this beef takes the most heartless of scumbags.
It truly sucks they never found enough to convict him of what became of her, but his smirks at sentencing says it all. He knew he'd just gotten away w/what he most feared being punished for. Murder. Regardless his motivations to deny her children what became of their mother or where she is, there's a specific place in hell for evil like him & it's not pretty.

I wonder if the FBI would dedicate this amount of man power today? how do they pick and choose. Feels like the FBI of the 90s and todays FBI are probably very much different. I myself live just north of DeLand, & visit fairly often. So I too was wow how close they finally nailed this scumbag. I'm pretty sure her husband's massive wealth played a huge part in getting so much FBI resources on this case. No other explanation for that really. I mean, the man finally coughs up & mailed out nearly a million dollars in checks to what could've been a dead end to nowhere. I imagine the fact his shrewdness as a business man likely led to his wife's fate surely riddled him w/guilt to his early death. Just really sad all around.
DeLand still has more character than many larger cities & quite a storied history, but a sleepy town sadly no more.. Certainly not Orlando, but damn sure not a Mayberry. The police dept stays very busy unfortunately. Traffic is pretty bad anytime it''s daylight. The usual, only those.greatly benefiting from would dare call "progress". Mainly builders & those collecting permit fees to foot the exorbitant city govt salaries. All the clearing of what has to be the last large tract of oak forest complete w/rolling hills on the north side to build residences is sadly a prime example. Many locals objected but they still approved it.

@@eadweard. Did Winn go into the franchise with the intent to steal money? Probably not. He bought into something that he thought would be a good business, maybe something that could provide some extra income in his retirement. Sadly, it didn't turn out that way for Winn and a number of other investors. So you have to wonder if they were sold something that didn't quite match the sales pitch. From Mr. Hearin's speech, it sounded like there was some public outcry about the way the investors were treated. People sympathized with them while at the same time thinking the kidnap was a heinous crime. I think the court erred in stripping Winn of everything he owned. Naively making a bad business deal is not the same as stealing money. He could have paid back the money in monthly installments with interest. It's not like the Hearin family was going to go hungry waiting for payment. Of course, none of this justifies the kidnapping and murder of Mrs. Hearin. (But maybe Mr. Hearin. Lol.)

I would also add that until recently, when your liberal world order took hold with Biden and his EU pals at the helm, this good was delivered reliably and at a reasonable rate. If he didn't have the money to do so, then he should have sold his car or other assets, or declared bankruptcy. There are risks associated with being a franchisee and this is one of them. It WAS just business, but this jerk made it personal and went to great lengths for retribution he felt was owed him, even though the business failure was his own, costing this innocent woman her life. I must say, I’m glad that I stumbled upon both this channel and upload on this case. To me, it seems obvious (as it does to many, if not most) that Winn definitely had some kind of involvement in the matter, but part of me wonders if there may have been others, primarily those listed on ransom note that also held some kind of responsibility as well. Winn was also (at least up until the crime) a prominent upper class society member of his area, w/ a few businesses to his name. Maybe, despite Winn being the “possible” kidnapper, somebody else took on the next step/role, which is why he maybe had no knowledge that he could use as leverage to testify against, as people like that usually tend to throw others under the bus, especially when S.H.T.F.! Either Winn did it soley/ w/ minor help from the accomplice(s) that testified against him, or was part of a plan/crime, along w/ others, possibly only receiving his short sentence due to not snitching on somebody else, etc. who may have “had access to connections.” Just my thoughts!

Oh for sure, it predates the US as a country. But that’s because before one could try someone and have them hung with very little evidence. Now later down the line, there’s some much bureaucratic red tape involved and so many chances to appeal if there’s one misstep by the prosecution, coupled with how few prosecutors actually give a shit about stopping violent crime and more about what case will get them re-elected, they are loathe to try a suspect without the body and the forensic evidence that usually comes with finding the body
