Easy instructions and very detailed video and i was over here stressing for a simple task lol cant wait to order in a new gas tank to switch them out
Omg! That was easy!! Thank you, not only for the video but the excellent manner in which you instructed.
good day, I wanted to ask you where the fuel pump is on this engine or these guys don't have one, I have the same one like this but I can't see where the fuel pump is
thank you so much, i just got a honda 600 vlx and its been sitting for 5 years, i gotta clean the carb and remove all the old fuel . thanks again
Very exciting!
Yeah 12 hours later it fired right up, battery is dead tho
Same here! I’m excited!
I just need to remove the old gas from the gas tank. Can I do the same thing pop the cover off, take off the gas line and open the petcock?
Im having an issue getting fuel from my petcock to the vacuum petcock due to the fuel line kinking, could you tell me what hoses or peices i need to get that fuel there? Previous owners jerry rigged it and i have no clue what i need
So there no bolts on the top/front of the tank?
Do you not have a fuel pump?
Hey cool bike, I have an 88 600 shadow but sadly without a gas tank. I was wondering if you knew if an 800 tank would work? or any other compatible gas tanks? thanks a lot its my first bike I'm putting together, just wanna get it in running order.
Hi Trevor, it would be difficult to mount any other tank. It would be much better to run the stock 600 tank. You could check eBay for a used one or go online and shop the Honda motorcycle OEM suppliers. Thanks so much! Lance
What is that part behind the chrome plate u unscrews off? Mine is leaking from there and need to replace
I think that is the vacuum petcock behind the chrome piece. If you look on a motorcycle OEM supplier, you will be able to see all the parts. Just google Honda motorcycle OEM parts. I hope this helps! Thanks, Lance @ BCB
What year shadow is this
So the only thing holding the tank down is a screw and the gas line?
Mine is loose and keeps rattling if i hit a bump. Any idea how to tighten? Thanks!
Yeah I know what you mean. There are two rubber grommets at the front of the tank. I replaced mine and it's still a little loose and makes a sound when I hit big bumps. You may want to replace yours and if the tank feels loose when you slide it over the grommets, wrap some tape around the grommets, hopefully that will eliminate the problem. Thanks, Lance
Make sure the two plastic front side covers (part nos. 63500-MR1-000ZC and 63600-MR1-000ZC) are tight; they help hold the tank down in front. My bike started rattling at certain RPMs; I tracked it down to the gas tank vibrating in front. Then I saw the two front side covers wasn't holding the tank properly... they were cracked. So I got the two new front side covers in, and no more rattling.
The bolt on the rear of my gas tank doesn't seem to want to come out no matter how much I unscrew it or try and wiggle it. The previous owner made a horrible seatpan for it that the bolt goes through. Any ideas?
First, make sure that the guy didn't put a nut under the bracket. Next, put some oil on the threads and pull upward with a pair of pliers around the bolt. Hopefully if the threads are stripped, pulling upward will release the bolt. Keep us posted!
Hi,
I own a vt 1100 1993.
Do you guys know where the fuel tank ventilation is on that thing?
WTFisAflo It should be a small tube coming out of the bottom of the tank somewhere.
Thanks for posting this. Very helpful.
the same from Honda Steed 400cc man?
What year is this bike?

If you tweak your voice just a bit you'd sound just like Jon lovitz lol
the same from Honda Steed 400cc man?
Hi Spiros, yes, it should be the same as the VLX, only it is the European version. Here is a link to our website.
