That reminds me of the time a Porsche 944 head came into our shop that a guy had over-revved and bent all eight exhaust valves. It was the late 80's and there were no aftermarket valves we could find and they were only available from the dealer for a hundred and some dollars apiece. I wonder how much they are now. I imagine it would be pretty difficult to pull two heads off that mid-mounted engine. The rev limiter helps, but I wonder if it has an electronic lockout to keep you from downshifting into too low of a gear. My motorcycle had a redline of 9000 rpm also, but nowadays they go much higher!

At 9000 RPM, the piston reciprocates 150 times per second!
