In my au, YHS happened because Alaric cut off watcher communication to that world because he was upset his love spells on Grian were broken, he wanted him dead. So until Alaric was exposed, Grian had to suffer through it. Once the head watcher knew, they destroyed Sam's world out of rage. Sam only lived because Alaric saved him.
There's that patch of lore for my main au! more coming soon!

Thanks! And, I'm just doing what everyone else does with YHS. Though I haven't actually watched the Minecraft series. Just fan content. But if it makes you feel better, things get better for him
