There is no marked way on the top of the hill, but I think it is easy to go. You have the downmat outside the bivouac sack, I would be afraid that it would fly away.

I’m going to glen coe next month and will drive around different areas of the highlands after that. I hope to see some stars if the clouds are clear and light pollution is low.
Fabulous again Murray. I used to have a double hooped goretex bivvy from a brand called mountain range. It was utterly brilliant, spacious for a bivy too. I wish they still made them as they were unsurpassed compared to anything else I’ve ever seen, almost tent like, but bombproof and no condensation. The company went defunct unfortunately.

Great video. Were you not worried about the deer walking on you? Camped in a wee spot by the river years ago and some hill ponies got far too close for comfort and caught in a guy line. Was worried it was going to panic and trample me.Felt i hardly slept a wink all night. Think I would have been very nervous in a bivvy with stags around. Well done.

You should check out a portable sky tracker,( I use the ioptron skyguider pro ). There are others. They take milky way shots to a whole new level there light, easy to set up and you will get around 4/5 mins exposures each and at a much lower iso.

I’ve just discovered your channel and felt I needed to comment. What fantastic video production. You make it really easy to watch. My main walking hunting ground has been Snowdonia, peaks and lakes, but I now think I need to venture further north! You have a great way of narrating the videos and obviously spend a lot of time on your camera work. I’m going to work my way through your videos. Can I ask what you are using for audio? Separate voice recorder or wireless link to the cam?

Hi, I'm climbing Ben Nevis in August and staying in Glencoe. What are the chances of seeing TheUNFATHOMABLE Edge of our Milky Way and/or Aurora Borealis mid August 2021 .. Pleasr, any help would make one man's lifedream a reality. One of my lifetime goals is to see both. Was that an exped schnozzle pump sack you where using ;) A great place to camp as always and not been for a while. Likely be one I do again when we get some good snowfall. The deer / stags seem to hang about that corner area all the time and go down to the Kingshouse for there breakfast :) Might even give the bivvy a go some time but already got a shed load of warm new winter kit to try as I hate the cold getting. Must be an age thing. Atb

Thanks Murray , I seem to remember you posted images on IG when you did this bivvy ;D Only remember it coz we had just arrived for our weeks highland holiday the same day. However while you were up the hill enjoying the Milky Way experience we were in bed after a 9hr car journey :D So thanks for sharing what we missed out on :) It looked amazing. I must admit after you said about the deer watching you I had visions of you waking up with them all standing looking at you in the morning :D

haha - thanks Teddy - luckily the deer hadn't surrounded me over night - think I would have had brown pants if I woke to a herd of deer staring at me!!lol
Yeah this was done before I went on my family holiday s would've been at the star of October (I usually run about 3-4 week behind as it takes a wee bit of time to edit!) However due to the hols and family commitments I am now running onschedule(ie next vlog is from last weekend ) , dare I say it but I may have to miss few Wednesday vlogs to catch up (although I have some older vlogs in the bag!!) :)

Hi Gavin - was ok as I picked a relatively sheltered spot and was all snuggled up in the sleeping bag :) if the weather was looking bad , I would've taken the tent for sure :)

Hi Ian - I may do a Sunday vlog on this as I have been asked this question many times - however I tend to use my older winter boots for all other seasons ( when I replace them )... I have been thinking of getting some light 3 season boots for next year tough (too many things on the wish list!!lol)

Hi, I'm climbing Ben Nevis in August and staying in Glencoe.
What are the chances of seeing TheUNFATHOMABLE Edge of our Milky Way and/or Aurora Borealis mid August 2021 .. Pleasr, any help would make one man's lifedream a reality.
One of my lifetime goals is to see both. I'm now 48 yes old, and thus might be my only possible chance till now

Was that an exped schnozzle pump sack you where using ;) A great place to camp as always and not been for a while. Likely be one I do again when we get some good snowfall. The deer / stags seem to hang about that corner area all the time and go down to the Kingshouse for there breakfast :) Might even give the bivvy a go some time but already got a shed load of warm new winter kit to try as I hate the cold getting. Must be an age thing. Atb
