I'm obsessed with the art on the tea tin! I was curious about this box because I was getting the older box until things got really backed up. I also really love that bookmark. the then wooden ones are my favorite.
I think its printed somewhere in China where arcane, unplugged, and bookish box get stencilled edges done (their formatting looks the same as this one). The reason for this is because there actually isn't a printer in the US that does stencilled edges so US book boxes have to find affordable options overseas. Whereas UK boxes like fairyloot and illumicrate are lucky as their are 2 big UK printers that can do printed edges as well as that more rounded binding compared to the weird boxed/square binding on the lit joy copy of last tale of flower bride.
I actually like the squared spine. But my dust jackets didn’t fit properly either. And I also don’t like the white on the dust jacket that’s visible when the stenciled edges are facing out.
I hate those square hardbacks book boxes are doing these days!! The bookish box does the same. Had to cancel that box for quality reasons as well as major delays.
Yup I was going to comment that bookish box prints in China because it’s cheaper but also allows for the edge customisation. I’m asssuming all of these (Bb, litjoy, unplugged/twisted are printed in China)
there isn’t a lot of places in the us that do special books like that so they probably go to the same place to get them done compare to fairyloot and illumicrate where they get them done in the uk and they have more company’s doing it there
I'm wondering if it has to do with the digital edges and them being adult books. Owlcrate does plenty of customizations and they don't have the weird squared books, but they're always YA books.
@@kimberlyreads but (until May) Owlcrate never did stencilled (let alone digital) edges. Just gilded or sprayed occasionally. Same with b&n only now slowly starting to (even tho sister company Waterstones has been). Because American printers just couldn’t do it.
I definitely think these infinite for threads will be of a different book type because they have delayed the shipping of the box until mid April. So I think they’re using a different publisher for that one. I think the reason that they switched publishers was in order to get the books out on time. It probably is the same publisher because unplugged seems to be One of the few book boxes without delays.
@@laurawessels2490 Maybe they got the books quicker? I think you make a great point about them coming without delays so they're using the same publisher. I didn't think of that
I'm going to hold off watching this until I get my box. I want to be surprised with what I get in my box. I checked the shipping and I should be getting it tomorrow! Living on the east coast I tend to get mine a few days later than others. I know quite a few people got theirs already. I have stayed off Mercari too so I can avoid people who buy the boxes just to resell them online. Looking forward to seeing what you think of this new box subscription.
@@kimberlyreads The book is really pretty but it was weird opening it now that you mention that. Anytime there is foiling embossed on the front, spine and back I like because it stands out really nice though so I did like that a lot. I LOVE the art on the inside front and back and the printed edges came out pristine (lasered?). I assume the other book is coming from the same manufacturer as the first one otherwise they won't match each other. So I guess we will hear about it on the Lunacorn's page because you know people aren't shy about saying how they feel in there lol. I like that they included bookish items in the box and not just fandom stuff since there's a lot that go over my head because I haven't read them yet. I like the idea of the tote and the material is good so it should last but not crazy about the finish on the screen print because it's shiny. I like canvas bags though to keep in car for shopping. I got the deluxe box too but I'm not sure it was worth the cost? The two mystery items were meh for me. I did like the book ends and that it was just book related and not fandom. I do like to collect their keys and thought the key was very pretty.
@@Brooksie603 yeah I felt the mystery items were definitely on the lower end compared to the other items, but I luckily still liked them. I am really curious if people are going to bring up the book style in book groups since it's such a diversion of what they've been doing.

I love that tote bag - so cute ! 😻
Great unboxing! I always wanted to check out subscription bookish boxes especially fairy loot lol but since I'm not into high fantasy I don't know
Hi there! Good box! I’ll be receiving mine tomorrow! I can’t wait.

Thanks for explaining all that! I kind of wish then that they'd just do simple sprayed edges instead then. I just soooo hate the weird square binding

I think Twisted Retreat has the same style books also

They just don't feel nice 😭 and they're so generic seeming.

Interestingly I just got a notification that my box has shipped. I wonder if it’s coming without the book.
