To tighten the chain you need to loosen the two large nuts that are holding the bar in place. Then on the inside of the bar is a slotted screw that you can tighten which tightens the chain or you can loosen which loosens the chain the chain should have about 1/2 inch when you pull it away from the bar that usually is about the right amount. Once you tighten the chain, then tighten those two nuts again and restored things. If you have a new chain and run it for a while it will absolutely loosen so it needs to be adjusted. I wish mine was that simple. I have an old S10. It looks like im going to have to remove the whole oil tank to remove the chain
