I can attest to the 90s being all about slime. Back in 5th grade, I wrote a story during creative writing. It was a superhero story called Slime Man, named after the titular hero. From what I recall, the hero's powers had absolutely nothing to do with slime whatsoever, nor did anything in the story involve slime. I just called the character Slime Man for the sake of having "slime" in the title.
sucks he featured YCDTonTV which was generally an 80s show. Little kids are going to be mixed up now. 80s =! 90s. I was a teen into the late 90s and we had nothing to do with slime. it was basically Smashing Pumpkins or 2pac.
Actually Ys Book 1 & 2 came out way before Cosmic Fantasy 2 in 1990 and had animated and voiced cutscenes on the same console and is arguably a much better RPG on the turbografx cd
saw Slime World at our Near (Nof Defunct) K-Mart in SoCal, that place was packed to the Brim in the Gaming Section, due to Toys'R'Us being 3 block away
Slime World is always one of those games that was all over the place back at release yet faded away fast. I only learned about Cosmic Fantasy 2 recently (show out to GTV Japan for it's awesome coverage of the series) but it's one of those fascinations to me that despite never owning a Turbografx CD really makes me want one. Something about those old school ambitious RPGs really gets my heart beating.
7:15 - try telling that to everybody whose first RPG ever was Final Fantasy VII but only because the constant barrage of exposure on tv and in magazines told them to play it. When they were playing the SNES or Genesis, it was always action or fighting games. I was one of the only preteens/teens who actually played RPGs in the 16bit era. Please, PS1 kids, PLAY FINAL FANTASY IV AND VI.
I LOVED “Tod’s Adventure in Slime World” for the Atari Lynx. It was my favorite game in the system. I have very fond memories of playing this game in the summer with my cousin, who also had it on Lynch. I always wanted to play the Sega Genesis port, but never got around to do it.
Whoa...you forgot about Y's Books I+II as critically acclaimed JRPG's on the TG-16. Cosmic Fantasy 1-3 can be played in English today thanks to fan translations.
My only regret was not knowing this was airing and I could have started watching this sooner. Jared...forever the videogame friends I had in middle school...he the man.😂 So funny. DJ xSUBn
This is kinda late for this video, but this year in 2024, Cosmic Fantasy 1 and 2 came to the Switch in the Cosmic Fantasy Collection. The physical is being done through Limited Run, but I got it off the eShop for my birthday last week. In Japan, there is a Cosmic Fantasy Collection 2 which completes the series, but who knows if it will come here. If it does, I'm snatching it up!! I honestly miss when anime had that art style, too. I love playing these games as a piece of history, the same way I enjoy this show as a piece of history. And I think Cosmic Fantasy would have made an awesome anime, but considering it was a cinematic RPG, that's probably the point! :D
I still wonder why this show stopped. Gonna go through and watch the episodes I never saw, but this show was becoming a regular thing every Friday morning
Sadly It just didnt make enough money to be viable. I was always looking forward to coming home on Saturday night and watch this brilliant show….. arrrrghhh😢
Cosmic Fantasy 2 is actually one of the worst of the TG16's small pile of English language RPGs; it is aggressively mediocre. Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes, Exile, the Ys games and the excellent port of Might and Magic 3 all wipe the floor with it.
The old commercials spliced in really bring me back.

Green slime feels so 90’s
The 80s did it first.
@@chrisrj9871the 70s started it!
no, really: it started in 1979 when the show started

I love FFIV! Also Phantasy Star II.
let's go! June 10th! 1992
i love this SHOW!
cosmic fantasy 2 story was great to hear
I fear viewing that advertisement for Gak has defiled me, somehow.
That quip at the end got me good.

Video starts at 1:53 after the end of the intro.
Love em all!
Can confirm the slime. Any Canadians here remember the game show "Uh Oh!"?
Do they remember the first season of You Can't Do That On Television which was before Nickelodeon?
I always laughed at the gak products.
As a vietnamese its so close to the word dick/cock in viet haha
9:39 Haha that is sooo 90's! Needs more 'tude dude!
Cosmic Fantasy 2 was AWESOME
This Train doesn't stop :D /
“For use with WHAT entertainment system?”
Slime world reminds me of a little PC game called Chex Quest..

Mmmm Bio Folates. All joking aside, I'm enjoying these now in the 90s videos. Especially with the Turbo getting some mentions.
6:14 😆😆
Eh yeah I remember the slime.
Gotta love that slime
Nickelodeon really sold the world on the virtues of slime.
Games of the Week
Cosmic Fantasy 2
Neat show love it.

DJ xSUBn
He won me over.
So weird to not hear Editor Dylan...
Cosmic Fantasy 2 has a rerelease. It came out in December last year, but only in Japan.
Those soccer faces should have been reused for a horror game.
Super soccer was a great rental
Ahh, Working Designs... I miss their flair. The Lunar Series was my first PS1 RPG
If anybody doubts that flair, just show them the box art of any Working Designs game. They were like foil trading cards.
to think in just ten years we'll be talking about xbox and ps2 games
Well both cosmic fantasy games are on Switch now
Comment for algorithm:)

👍👍👍
Wait is this out 2 days early, or 6 months late? What’s going on?
This is a new channel exclusively for the show. It was originally uploaded to ProJared's own channel, as was the whole series up to this point.
Are you under the impression professional reviewers make sense today? They don't, the bribe money is strong with those "journalists"

Erhm, your legs were ready faster not because of the drink, but because everytime you do exercises it takes less time to restore. Wha a BS ad.
