I bought a race red 2013 XLT a few months ago. I still consider these trucks as new to me. I like the way they look and they're just new enough to handle today's technology. I could care less to get like a new 2022 truck.
Yea with the f150s I still like the 2013-14 body a little better then the newer ones granted the new ones are nice and all but I just love this generation
I've got an 11 fx4 race red coyote K&N intake straight pipe (still have cats) absolutely love this truck. Best vehicle I've owned and it's fast. It'll hang around with older muscle cars no problem and on e85 it's a different animal. Wakes up the ole 5slow
I've got the same 2014 in Oxford White and I love my truck. I Purchased mine in 2019 for $28+k with only 48+k 1 owner and no accidents per carfax. Leather seats/rugs/mats, bed trunk with Tonneau cover and under hood looked brand spanking new. . Lots of room in the back seats on this truck guys with hidden storage space-look it up and get the release kit straps for both sides. I have not changed my tires yet because it had brand new 20s but once they run down I plan to upgrade. Speaking of UPGRADES: Weathertech Floor Liners, Mud Flaps and Wheel Well Guards. Catch Can and the K&N filter. Changed all my lights to LEDs except the headlights cause of the shaded covers like yours plus they already look nice. The Puddle LEDs and 3rd brake lights made a big difference dude. I installed a LEDs Bed Light kit so I can see inside Bed at night with a door pin so they can turn on/off automatically when I open or close the tailgate (run hot straight to battery and use a 10A fuse holder)-very cool. DEE ZEE DZ43200 Truck Tailgate Assist. Tailgate gap cover. TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket. Bulley Step. A bullet antenna and more stuff I'm sure. ALL labor free or with help of my best friend who's a certified mechanic. I don't care for the F-150 chrome on the rear either so I'm looking to change that. I'm also planning to upgrade my front grill from OEM to the 2014 FORD F150 Raptor Style Grille Front Grill Hood Grille Replaceable Letters & Amber LED Lights and a LED Tailgate Brake Light Bar with Reverse & Sequential Turn Signals (suggestions welcome on the brake light) or anything else. Had to get this truck because she drives like a brand new truck-very smoooooth. Best truck I have ever owned. I love this truck so much, my wife is about to take my pillows and cover and put them in the back seat LOL!
Just got my 2014 FX4 79k miles in 2023. Rocks mysocks off. My only complaint is the loud radiator fans that blow. Currently working to get that figured out.
Got the same truck in ingot silver. Did a 3” lift and put 315/70R17 tires on. Full Corsa Xtreme exhaust on the 5.0. As far as the stereo goes, I did an aftermarket swap to an Alpine HU with Apple CarPlay. Pretty bad ass truck.
The different tires can be retrained saw it here on UA-cam a while back so sensor beeping stops. I think you cycle through like you did in your vid but put it on tire pressure or something . Then you go from tire to tire it should say what tire is next in dash. As you slowly let out air listen for a ding sound that means that tire is now recognized by sensor. When done with all 4 tires the sensor ding ding sound will be gone & light will be off basically you just reset/recalibrated the tire sensors to the tires you are running, no need to do anything else. Video explains it better than I do. Takes like 5 min. Different years have different ways but all the tire sensors can be relearned so they will recognize your new tires/pressure. @@MatthewKrompierthe only real issues I’ve had is my starter went. And it was its first starter. Ford told me that 2012-2014s have bad starters. Aside from that nothing major
Been looking to buy one of these 2009-2014 model F150s, really love the 2015-2018 look but they’re just too much and these body styles of the previous gen definitely don’t look bad! Just wondering if to get the eco boost since that’s most common to find and what trim level is best, appreciate any advice!
Funny you said that I literally just bought a 2013 ecoboost platinum to try that platform it’s been awesome I do miss the v8 but this thing drives so smooth and I love all the features the platinum has
Beautiful truck keep it as stock as possible and it will serve you very well. The resonator delete and all that exhaust drone is not it, compared to the nice smooth quiet ride you can have in that truck with stock tires and stock exhaust
Thank you! And I had big issues with it so I actually ended up selling it for some profit. And with the new wheels it really brought my mileage down. I was seeing about 17 if lucky but on the stock wheels like 19-22. Wheels looked good but I like my mpg more I don’t think I’d ever put wheels that big on my truck again in all honesty unless I had a lot of money to waste on gas
My driveshaft blew up in pieces on my way home from New Jersey to Long Island just normal driving which is insane made me think the truck could have been beat on possibly
Honestly the sound was pretty good! I loved the 5.0l I had 2 of them. A lot like the ecoboost though If you want more low end torque. I personally just prefer natural aspirated. You def should get one!

I never used the key pad either till I got stationed at minot AFB man you get a cold climate you might use it I start the truck about it 20 minutes before work cause the -50s man takes a min for it to wake up
I would maybe go to ford I’m not too sure other option would be I think they make kits where you can get the newer sync system that might be a better option then you get the new radio
@@MatthewKrompier i enjoy it so far. I’ve got 35x12.50x18’s and it rides pretty rough but i literally just hauled 3 deer off the food plot with it so I’m not complaining. Fixing to give it a bath right now lol

Theres a red one here for 18k, see Im not a wild driver though but listening to diff ppl make me scared lol especially with ford. But you right, how would I even know it was well maintained lol. they can say anything they just want those cars sold if you ask me. I don't trust ANY dealership guy tbh even if they SEEM friendly lol thats just me.

It was a half cab and I really wanted more room so I upgraded to the 4 door and a higher trim so more bells and whistles but I wish I just kept the 2011 I’ve had 15 cars and it’s the only one I miss

Actually the check engine light went on twice but was able to iron out alot of the issues within the first month
That’s good def sucks when that happens I had some big issues with this one I actually ended up selling it

Oh I agree the set up of sync 2 I liked alot better than sync 3. Sync 3 just works better and has better access. I'm gonna upgrade myself eventually

I guess it comes down to if you want a bigger or smaller truck. I personally feel like tacomas are overpriced.
