Shifting a Ural

Ural transmissions aren't as forgiving as more modern motorcycles. As a new Ural rider, I've attempted to learn how to shift the bike more smoothly. In short, shift how the Ural wants you to shift, not how you want to shift the Ural.

been riding for over 60 years, i do it my way and i like it. my 2016 Ural gets shifted like a triumph up with toe and down with bottom of foot, never liked the heal/toe method. actually i think when to shift make all the difference, especially on 4th i never shift before 45 mph and all is smooth as butter.

Mine likes upshifts at 12, 21 and 33 mph. No need for high revs w/a large heavy flywheel.
