If you want a narrow field of vision, do what this guy says If you want to actually be able to see the cars to your side, adjust the mirrors so you can barely not see your car at all. You’ll be able to see things in your blind spot much better
This guy must hold a provisional license. I keep my sideview mirror about a foot out of view of the back door handle. For those who say adjusting this way you cannot judge how far away the car to your left is. They shouldn't be driving.
@saundersdachicken6197 this can be seen in a parking lot with a parked car then the people can know exactly how the blind spot is see the object and literally get out if need be to look.
@@egigstertroll3521 That's only if you want to reverse park. If you're driving straight in you don't need your mirrors. And if you do need to see the side of your car just move your head and body a few inches
Because you don’t have your side mirror set properly. You basically have 3 rear view mirrors. I bet you have to crank your neck every time you make a lane change
It is a mirror one, the line. Uh, sometimes you're not lying. It's the lion's the direction and when it comes. Up a red light when I get a stop. With your red traffic jam and the car's traffic. And if traffic jam is the 100% a drop of jams or 100% and the 100%.
Wrong answer, you should not see any of your car in either side mirror. First set your interior rear view mirror the fill the rear window, then look at what appears in the right most side of that mirror, now set your right side mirror to barely include what you see in the rear view mirror, repeat for left mirror, doing this will almost eliminate any blind spot as any vehicle passing will be in either mirror or your peripheral vision.
shouldnt you be able to see atleast a small portion of your car to avoid hitting anything and be able to know where the tire is if needed, like in hilly areas. unless youre experienced ofcourse.
That is not true actually. You need to see the other cars and the road relative to your car. If you can’t see any part of your car it means you just widen the blind spots around you and even looking in the blind spot you’ll miss what you should have seen in your mirrors
If you see the side of your vehicle even it it is a small sliver, you are creating a lot of duplication in your field of view between what you see in your rear view mirror and the side mirrors. Setting your side mirrors out more to eliminate most of this duplication will reduce the blind spots after a vehicle in a side mirrors leaves that view and enters the view out the front windows. This process is not creating blind spots it’s reducing them.
No, it’s better when you adjust them that way when you can see the cars on the left side in both mirrors (left+center) from right side on the right + center, that way you have panoramic view and less blind spots
This is outdated and could be dangerous as it increases your blind spot. You want to adjust such that you barely see any portion of the car after you see with your head on the edge of the driver's seat on either side. It is discomforting at first, but check/test with a subject walking across both sides of the car.
Also, there are these things called stop signs. BEFORE passing the stop sign you must come to FULL stop and make sure no cars are comming. These cars DO NOT have to stop for you and they WILL NOT. After the way is clear, you can pass the stop sign. This is different if it's a four way stop, but that is another issue.
Tip so you barely see the back handle when sitting straight. Your own car won't hit you. You don't need to see your own car. This will give you a smaller blindspot.
Should never rely on those and actually develop your blind spot checking skills. No mirror even those for blind spots are accurate enough. Now let’s talk about those reverse cams. They’re good to see if anything you cannot see in your rear glass or mirrors, like an infant for example. But you’re not supposed to use them to park. They made it a certain way to help you with that but that’s because people will actually use the m for that but that’s not what they have been designed for. When people start to rely on faillible tech to drive problems happen. It’s like not thinking you could die in an accident because you have airbags. They increase the chances of survival but are not infallible
You don't adjust rear view mirror from the nearest seat to that mirror. That is insane. It is adjusted from the driver perspective. The view from the rear view mirror is straight out the back window. Side mirrors should pickup objects as they fall off the sides of the rear view mirror with little to no overlap until it comes along your side our car where you look just behind your passenger seat or driver window to see with your eyes. Adjusted in a way to give you the widest angle possible without a significant blind spot.
Tf is that? I don't need to see my door handles, I know where they are and they ain't gonna pass me. I need to reduce the most of what's in my blindspot. The outside mirors should pick up where the inner miror can't see with a little bit of overlap. If you see pretty much the same thing in your outside mirors than what you see in the inside miror, it's pointless, you're just restricting your field of view.

Agree 100%. The rentals are always showing the side of your car. That means you have a huge blind spot. You don’t need to see your own car.

Doing it this way increases your blind spots… if you can see the same thing in all 3 mirrors you’re doing it wrong.
Please do a video on how to adjust your sideview mirrors CORRECTLY this time.

I prefer to keep a sliver of my car in there for reference when reversing

In Italy people don‘t need mirrors. Simply Drive faster than everybody else.
I've driven on most of Western Europe. Twice in Italy! Several times in Africa, etc.

Actually adjust past the handle to avoid blind spots
