I always caught tons of Pokémon in many of my hunts in this game for the candy. The bigger the combo, the more candy you get per catch. As such, I wanted to get really high combos for some in order to sell a lot of the candy and to get the Pokémon-specific candy. From my experience, many of the Pokémon will become far easier to catch as you catch more and more. However, some Pokémon’s maximum catch rate remains only a yellow circle for a regular pokeball regardless of how many you catch. I know this because sometimes, I wanted to get every Pokémon to have a green circle for a pokeball. However, no matter how many beedrill I caught, it was always a yellow circle. Also, I feel like the number of Pokémon required to increase the catch rate changed from Pokémon to Pokémon. The easier and weaker Pokémon sometimes took very little effort whereas evolved Pokémon or rarer Pokémon sometimes took far longer to get a good catch rate. Also, sometimes it took forever to increase the catch rate at all. But once the circle became easier, it only took a couple more catches to improve it again. Maybe the number required to increase the catch rate is constant for every Pokémon; but based on my experiences, that is not the case.
Yeah I’ve been slowly figuring out how it works throughout the series. In the next episode I comboed for poliwrath and I couldn’t get a green circle with a pokeball. I could with a great ball though! I’ve learned that as soon as you catch 100 of the Pokémon you then get the max catch rate. It seems like there are 3 different tiers of catch rate increases but as you said, it seems different for everyone pokemon. However as far as I know, it’s ALWAYS 100 for the max catch rate!

Your so lucky with shiny growlith it took me a month to get it and I phased 13 times even tow times I phased for Abra twice and one time it was the first Abra I saw after hundreds of growlith
I would recommend trying to continue to the catch combo for growlithe after a combo of 31! The shiny odds are only raised for the next spawn of the species you’re comboing so if you keep the combo going you’ll most likely get the shiny you’re going for! I used to phase a ton for the shinies I went for until we found out the real way catch comboing works!
Before the shiny charm and even before the ‘corrected’ way to do this method in both Let’s Go games I was still able to catch 8 Shinies. Now after finally getting the charm I tried doing it again with one of the hardest & rarest Pokémon I can do a catch combo on… & got a Shiny Eevee on the 84th catch! Thank you! Will be doing this more & more now.
Awesome! Congrats on the eevee! Yeah it wasn’t very difficult to get some shinies before this method but this method makes some of the more challenging hunts in this game a lot more doable! I was dreading going for shiny scyther/pinsir before but now it’ll be like any other hunt!

How would this work for rare spawns though? Because don't you need to get a combo of something just for say a Bulbasaur to spawn? Then when you catch the rare spawn it will end tbe combo which will thrn end the rare spawn? Or am I getting all that wrong?
It works exactly the same for rare spawns (excluding the legendary birds). Rare spawns are about a 1% spawn rate until you get an 11 combo of anything. So you just need to get an 11 combo of the rare spawn to get the higher spawn rate. Then continue to catch them for the higher shiny chance. They’re significantly harder to start a combo for, but once you do, they’re easier to combo to get shiny due to them spawning pretty much back to back every time after the 11 combo.

I'm currently hunting Squirtle I caught one after a combo of 160, on the second phase I'm on a combo of 752 and a total combo of 912. Am I doing something wrong or am I wasting my time as you can only get one shiny because it genuinely is feeling that

I do believe you! I found a shiny sandshrew while making a tutorial on the catch combo method! Having shinies in the overworld makes them a lot more likely to appear!

I cancel the evolution until I get another shiny to have the full evolution line shiny. Some Pokémon however I just want to level up but I don’t want to evolve. For example I have the full shiny charmander line and want to level up my charmeleon. If it evolves then I have multiple charizards and I no longer have the full charmander line shiny. Also if you cancel the evolution you can evolve it again the next time it levels up. You can do this until it reaches level 100 then it’ll no longer be able to evolve. This was however changed in sword and shield so even if a Pokémon is level 100 you can use a rare candy on it to evolve it

the catch combo method is poop (can you tell im currently on a catch combo of >600 and still haven't seen any shiny pokemon, let alone the one im hunting)
Yeah it can be good and bad. Going over odds with it feels way worse than most methods, but it has a high potential to do under odds and get shinies quickly
Of course the youtuber using an emulator finds shinies so quickly. While with normal gamers and shiny hunters it takes days/weeks to find shinies. I’ve seen nearly 1k Magmar and ended my combo at 160 and still nothing. I’m sure you would’ve found ten shiny Magmar by now
@@ThedomiNATION it’s proven that most shiny hunting UA-cam channels cheat a bit to get the views to help their channel grow. Your reactions to each shiny help prove it too. And the fact you find these shinies so very fast compared to most everyone else playing normally.

@@ThedomiNATION I don’t see how they’re so high when it takes some people 800-1k combos to find a single shiny. For most it takes weeks/months to find one while it takes UA-camrs a single streaming session to find multiple. UA-camrs mostly cheat for views and subs, it’s a proven fact. Why else would they do it?
@@darknessrealm9575 the odds with a combo are 1/273. So on average it would take around that many to get a shiny. But it’s all luck. One of my videos it took me like 600 combo to get a shiny. Doesn’t mean getting lucky says I’m cheating my guy

I hunted Magikarp and got a 150+ catch combo with lures and I didn't get it ._.
Gotta keep going! That’s only about half the odds and you should never expect then that early!
I'm currently at 559 Ekans without encountering a shiny. I don't have the shiny charm but I'm popping lures like crazy.

Why do you cancel the evolution and can you evolve it later on if you cancel it?
I cancel the evolution until I get another shiny to have the full evolution line shiny. Some Pokémon however I just want to level up but I don’t want to evolve. They need to combine legends arceus gameplay with let’s go shiny hunting mechanics and then allow online play.
