Own the 164. Love how easily it moves from edge to edge. Would like it if it was a little more damp for chopped up conditions but I’m old. Easy to ride. ✌️
This was my first Korua. Noticed its stability right sway, but i was coming from a Never summer. I agree this is best eith long drawn out carves. My dart seems to be better, for me, for the short carces.
Mine showed up yesterday and I had some drives that I threw on this morning. About to go take it for its first laps. Edit; So I had perfect groomers but only a 300ft Hill to work with. It can be ridden lazy but comes alive with some speed. We're looking at a rare powder day tomorrow so it'll be fun to get it out in that.

Thanks for the review. How much stiffer is this vs a Skeleton Key? Would you recommend the size you rode 164 or the 158 given your weight?
Wouldn’t say it’s stiffer just the flex is different and more directional on this.
How does it compare to the Dart? In terms of stability/precision while carving, I'm guessing in powder they both work fine...
It’s not as stiff so you get more play. It’s easier to engage a carve and change direction on the fly.
@AngrySnowboarder OK, thanks, interesting. You might have thought with the shape that the Dart would be the more playful/looser one.
Been really eyeing that Pencil 164 for a while now. Though the Cafe Racer, and the Transition Finder also look cool. What really sets those boards apart from each other?
Flex, sidecut, and how they ride. More aggressive carving Cafe Racer, mellow carving Pencil, more freestyle/all mountain focused Transition Finder.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thanks for the update across the korua line up. Could pla elaborate on how these boards compare against each other in day-end, chopped up terrain and chatter though, for the times you aren't engaged in pencil line carves?

In terms of carving and powder performance, do you think pencil is the best choice in korua line?
For cruising definitely. If we're talking straight carving I think the Cafe Racer series is better. In terms of powder it's Uberegg all day but that thing is horrendous to ride on a groomer.
@@AngrySnowboarder since I want a board have good performance in carving and in powder(I got a park board already), will you suggest pencil or cafe racer as my second board?
I'd go with the Pencil, Cafe Racer is a hog in pow.

Has korua changed their base? I have heard (based on one board) that it does not take and hold wax as well they used to?
I am hesitating on buying a pencil because of that info I have heard.

woud you size this board down or up? i ride a 156 in my dart, 5'8" 160. debating between 153 and 159 pencil.
I'd size up personally.
Dart 56 shares the same platform as pencil 64. Definitely don't size down. Pencil 59 is a slightly smaller platform than your dart. I would go 59 for a more normal feel, but if you really like how your dart feels under your feet (width, etc), you might be surprised by the 64. Advertised length in actuality is one of the least useful specs these days, with all the variables in shaping.
Main differences between this and The cafe racer other than shape?
Flex, how it carves, the overall ride.
