Until you go into the DOL and get told they don’t know how to help you, this area is depleted. That’s fantastic. I watched and I’m a certified DiSC Facilitator Trainer and have 20+ yrs of HR experience. So maybe the DOL should hire me there, yes!
I'm finding that acquiring a new position is difficult. This virtual career center info video shows a lot of interesting paths that I might find new employment in the end with thanks for posting.
I watched this video the first week when I got laid off on April 20 2023. Also, during the first week of MAY 2023 and doing it again today MAY 19, 2023. Thanks for the information and would like to meet with a seasoned career advisor. Thanks for your support.
My position in the resort industry dissolved and thank fully my claim saved me and still is. However , the job search has changed for me drastically. I now have medical issues that preclude me doing most any job I have in the past . Counsel and retraining are what I would have received pre covid. The same service is needed . Is there such a thing ? A personal advocate to help n aging worker navigate all this and retrain ? I miss working...
Super interesting video. I had no idea the Department of Labor offers so many helpful ways to get back into the workforce. I'm actually already taking a course with coursera so its a coincidence it was mentioned here. Highly recommend.
My ex employer had me working for 33-35 days consecutive ., Also at times had me come back into work after only 6-7 hrs in between shifts during the 33-35 day consecutive period I'm at a loss at this point not sure whom I need to speak with .. this employer takes advantage of it's employees... What could be my next step.. ?
Um I use indeed for my job searches, it's better in every way possible. The job searching web app NY uses is out of date and should be replaced with a partnership with indeed. This would be a win-win for both NY state and indeed but I'm sure this will never happen. I wanted to make this comment not only to comment on that fact but because their making me watch this video. I'm sure some people will get jobs using their guidance, maybe even good ones but speaking from experience in the private sector indeed has given at least three jobs in the last few years and because job searches are a numbers game the more you apply the greater your chances are for getting a call for interview and hopefully a job. I see alot of robo comments below and your welcome to believe them but my guess is that they aren't paying the bills....just saying.
Watched 2/25/2022. Not particularly helpful in my situation. I knew this info already; it's right there on the DOL website. You are supposed to be doing this and keeping a history of it. I am stuck. My age (66), my past experience highly specialized (lineman) is not helpful. Trying to get a job as an inspector. PSC has no website even.
The video was helpful. My name is Hazel Benda. I have been looking for jobs for awhile now. I am remaining hopeful and I know I will find one soon. God is faithful and I will remain optimistic
Crazy how these people want to exhaust you drain you . They Don't give people time to relax like we are machines. On my job I worked 7 years straight barely no day off...even the rats in NYC living for free

I'm looking forward to work rehabilitation since I can't do what I used to do to health issues and aging DOL I hope to be back to work with your help
The DOL in Williamsville has many resources and will help guide you along the way so a job search isn't such a daunting thing anymore.
