The replay officials have to believe it’s absolutely clear and convincing that the call in the field was wrong. There’s no guarantee they would’ve overturn that play using that standard. Moreover, way too often, The replay officials are wrong. For example, last week they ruled a very obvious third down conversion completion to Burton along the side line as incomplete. The guy that the broadcast team had in the booth as an ex referee, considered the play to be an obvious reception, pointing out the grass between Burtons shoe tip and the white side in line, and the replay officials got it wrong anyway. Unfortunately, that sh&t happens. Sometimes, we see what we want to see, and often times you can ask 10 people who witnessed a car accident what they saw, and you will get 10 different stories. There are a lot of if‘s and buts in a close football game that fans will point to after the game. Alabama fans today would be talking about dropped interceptions by the defensive backs if they had lost the game. Anyone of those being caught would have changed the direction of the game, and a couple of them would have taken some of George’s points off the board. that’s football. If if and buts were candy, and nuts, we would all have a merry Christmas. With that said, I would like to wish you a merry Christmas anyway.
I graduated from FSU and agree with the CFP committee to select Alabama into the playoff. I was aware that without our starting quarterback the last two games would be difficult. Even though FSU won both, the level of playmaking was reduced significantly in raw percentage for passing yards, total offense, etc. The Noles can simply regroup for next year. Tate also should stay on concussion protocol for an extra month or two (in my opinion). By contrast, Alabama is clearly on a high momentum with a win against Georgia. I know many FSU fans won't like my opinion, but I figured at least Alabama fans would appreciate my realism and honesty. I worked in the FL Panhandle for many years with a lot of SEC alumni from Alabama and Auburn but am now back in my home state of AZ. Best wishes in the CFP.

If UGA takes that game seriously they’ll hold them to 10 points in their bowl and beat them by 20+. Injuries suck but I think the committee leaves out the other teams as well had they lost their starting QB and looked lackluster without them.
As I suspected, there is severe turmoil of resentment in Tallahassee. I lived there for about 13 years. But injuries are common. When Ohio State lost their starting quarterback and backup to injuries about ten years ago, the 3rd string guy had a stellar performance in the Big 10 championship game. There was no dropoff in offensive output. So, the Buckeyes still got in. By contrast, the downturn with Tate then Brock was very obvious for FSU. Hence, the Noles got left out logically in my opinion. But I am a statistical outlier in that opinion among FSU alumni. The FSU soccer team did earn its way into the college cup final though. They might win it all today as they have before.
Finally a bit of honesty, thx Jimmy. The real MVP's were the Offensive line, Defensive front, WR's, RB's and secondary. Bama should've been up 28-7 or 35-7 at the half. Happy for the win, but this game should've been over at the half.... The truth is Milroe had all day to throw, held the ball way too long and missed so many easy opportunities and wide open WR's you'd need 3-5 paragraphs to cover them all. His worst failing is holding onto the ball two seconds too long looking for receivers. After three seconds in the pocket, if he can't find a receiver, he just needs to tuck it and run instead of risking a sack.
Eventually things will speed up for him but he can’t be an affective runner if defenses don’t fear the pass. That’s why Rees didn’t run Milroe early in the season against loaded boxes. He developed Milroes passing first. No way we beat Texas A&M had Rees not did that. RTR
I never doubted Milroe.. I always thought it was coaching… Milroe is a leader… he brings calm and leadership to the team! I also love Mrs Coach Saban’s support and love for the players! She is a strong force behind this team! She doesn’t get enough credit! The players love her!
That being said, he was off yesterday and can play much better. Tommy kept putting him in some difficult situations. Tommy has mismanaged the clock numerous times this season. I don't know why more people aren't pointing out that we could have ran the ball right down Georgia's throat all night.

I was looking for your Podcast last night as I always enjoy your post game take. Since it did not happen, I agreed with what you said. I gone from a love hate to love like relationship with Milroe. Early in the season his play was speraritic. In the past his mistakes could have cost games. Now his mistakes (primarily holding the ball too long) are only drive killers. Given his deep strike capability and running ability, I will take this tradeoff every day!
No one wants to go through the torture of watching that offense we saw last night in the playoff and that includes FSU fans even if they don't know it; Jordan Travis would've scored 40+ on that team last night. I know it hurts for FSU and the memories of this year will always be a what could've been. Don't stand in the way of a contender because of pride. If Milroe was injured we wouldn't be a playoff level team either. I can't guarantee a bama win in the playoff but I can guarantee a FSU loss if it's in the field without Travis in the lineup.

You are a correct to say that preseason they predicted Ty Simpson, to win the job. But they came off of that position at least seven weeks ago. And that doesn’t make them the Lone Ranger. It was very difficult to find any fans that were still on the Jalen Milroe wagon after the Texans game. They were all over the chat rooms on Alabama sites and on call in shows. You can still find a few of them out there. I think a few people on this thread are still busy criticizing Milroe too much. But for those who have changed their minds, not many of them show up and say they were wrong. These two guys have pretty much admitted. They were wrong. Our society would be a lot better if more people could admit they’re wrong when they are wrong.
