Wow I would contact furniture stores near the area and flip everything for 25 percent of the prices they have. They would be getting a major deal and if there is 2.4 million in stuff that means u would get 25 percent of that which is over 500k. Just have them come in there trucks to pick everything up and get it gone within a month. It can be done and you would have at least 400k profit in your pocket. That’s crazy! Major potential here!

Make consignment deals with a bunch of furniture stores. That would be a win for the buyer of this lot and the consigning store. If the stores had their own trucks that would eliminate a large transportation cost also.

WOW. If this is the same place in thinking it is the furniture quality is awesome. I can't believe that the owners went out of business and left all that stuff there. I wonder what the story is how that happened. I know this place. I think it was off of 57th Street or 37th street or something. Huge warehouse. And they only had like 5 people working the office and about 5 people working the warehouse. Their furniture was off awesome waking and Everytime I went there to do some work for them as a vendor I used to look at the furniture in awe thinking how much I'd love if I could afford to furnish my whole place with those units. But if they're in for 110k to buy and move everything, and let's say another 150k for a 30k a month rental for five months, that's still under 300k. Throw in another 200k for misc costs like labor and overhead to manage the stuff. 500k. Sell it at 50 percent of and you still have well over 700k in your pocket and that's being very very very conservative. Because you don't have to 50 percent it to move it. That's just too move it fast since you're not in the furniture business. Your in the flipping business. What's funny that people don't understand is you don't have to sell it piece by piece. You find yourself a furniture wholesaler and sell them a mill worth of furniture for 600k. That's only 40 percent and they'll do it because they have the logistical power of handling it and sitting on it. Find yourself a few wholesalers and they'll take everything including those forklifts. He'll you might even get lucky and find a seller that's big enough to handle that kind of lost and let's say he gives you 1 Mill for everything as it sits and he takes on the moving and storage and reselling of everything. That's 950 in your pocket without ever having to move a single piece. Hell you can probably take furniture from there to furnish your entire place and still make 950k in your pocket. Anyone that says it's not possible I'd just lazy and find excuses because they don't want to go and work. It is possible. I've gone to auctions and night stuff that I knew nothing about, but I knew it was something that someone would want and roughly how much it goes for. It just takes patience and money to make money. Sometimes you make more sometimes you make less. But if you do it right. You'll never lose.

There's an old saying: The devil's in the details. Meaning that there's a catch to everything. This can and should be profitable for the buyers but you've got to move 2,000 couch sets (as the included example) and that won't be easy. Now you're suddenly running a shipping company. Some stuff isn't boxed so it will have to be boxed to ship it. Plus, I'm guessing that they two guys don't own that warehouse and they'll have to be out of there at some point. Then where does all that stuff go. They'll need years to sell all that. So it's very easy to say $2.4 million worth of furniture for $49,000 but they aren't clearing near that much in this disparity. It will cost them money/time to make their profit.
Acknowledging this doesn't make one a "hater" or "non-believer", it's just that as I said at the start.....The devil is in the details. Good luck to those two men who took this on. In fact, it's almost three years later....I wonder how they did on this venture? If they put in the sweat and moved a lot of that inventory, then maybe they pulled down $500,000 or more. That still makes this a pretty nice little score. Anyone know how this ended up for them?

I've seen the auction video but still in my opinion there is more to this than we are being told. No one will allow stock worth $2.4 million to be auction off at no reserve and no way would they let it go for as little as $49k. That stock would be used to pay of any debts, to creditors, landlord so the only way $2.4 million of stock can be left is if there was way more stock that was sold to pay off any debts owed and what we see is what's lefts over.
I need to know the back story of the company involved before i can take this auction/sale seriously.
