GW0WVL, Problem with my Kenwood TS-440-SAT.

I've a problem with my TS-440-SAT , It appears that's it's probably VCO-5 is the issue ... Mainly the glue has gone conductive .

I also like the older radios , They are generally easier to repair as long as you can get the parts , No surface mount components , All through hole parts , The Kenwood 440 is a classic radio , Nice ones are getting harder to find .

Done a few 430/440 and other radios with the same issue of the conductive glue seems to be a common thing now due to the age of some radios .
