John please take care of yourself and don’t underestimate the toll cancer takes on those who support their loved ones. That sense of not being able to do or change anything is stressful to process.
You are so lovely, and have such a gentle voice and a thoughtful view of the world and people. It doesn’t matter what you are talking about it’s always interesting. Please don’t feel you have to make videos ‘about’ anything- just popping on for a chat even if there is not much to say is absolute fine. Just be kind to yourself- please. Hugs to you both, and I hope to bump into you one day.
I am living with cancer. It can be a very hard journey which is best undertaken in the company of loved ones and friends. Good luck to you and Mandy on your journey.
Just for the record I like the bike and power bank reviews because hopefully I will purchase both in the future. I trust your judgement as you tell it as it is. Solar panel reviews should be next😎 Today is my 33rd wedding anniversary and I feel incredibly lucky. I have health issues but nothing like what Mandy is currently having to cope with. And yes I continue to follow you both to hear updates because I care for you both. Keep strong John there are1000s out there who believe in you and what you are doing the others just need to remember this is van life and not a soap opera travel will come but at the minute both physical and mental health comes first for both of you❤❤
PS John you taking videos in the rain and it ending up like a bit of a wet t shirt competition might also have a detrimental effect on your subscribers or maybe not as as you know we all must be weirdos to watch anything like this well that's what she said🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I saw you parked at Castle Hill the other day. My wife went through radiotherapy in 2013, but now she has bone cancer and then a new cancer in her bowel. But now she cannot have any more treatment and has end of life care only, so my thoughts are with you, and may the cancer treatment be totally and permanently successful.

It’s tough having cancer and going through the treatment, however, it’s equally tough for the family around you seeing what you are going through.
Watching them go through it is also hard.
One thing I read which really stuck in my mind. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer (as you said at end of video) but what we don't do is teach any of us how to cope. Actually watching videos like this really help that. Same with one of your videos last year on mental health. Tough with the trolls....but those are people who haven't yet experienced life and everything it can throw at us. But from me...thank you for these videos. 🤞 for you both

Hi John, I started following your adventures whilst my wife was in hospital for a month. I binged pretty much your whole back catalogue over that period and when my wife got out of hospital we bought our van and haven’t looked back since. You will get through this shit period and enjoy those times again. In the meantime know you have the love and support of many people you have helped in the past without even knowing it. Stay strong. 💪

When you say "I'm fine, it's Mandy that's going through this" "I feel like a fraud" please remember you're going through it too. The emotional stress is difficult and has an impact on health as well. So when we ask "how are you?" It's massively important for you to be able to share and offload this (not publicly on YT, but however it suits you). Of course, as I'm writing this I can't remember sponsors of other channels but is it BetterHelp that provides counselling services?
Anyway, my point is it's a stressful and difficult time for you too, that's not nothing ❤

Cancer journeys can be a difficult thing for people to take on board. If you have no experience of it then to hear about can be frightening or depressing. Or it can just seem irrelevant to you and something you can't imagine ever happening to you. If you do have experience of it then maybe it's uncomfortable to revisit those memories. At the end of the day people are people. Most are not really bad or good, whilst some definitely are. The same person can be grumpy, inconsiderate and yet also caring at times. I think many people that react badly to things outside their comfort zone are hiding from a weakness or fear they can't or won't face. A lot of people don't understand the world outside their bubble and that frightens them. The fear leads to aggression (passive or otherwise). That's my thoughts anyway!
What a humane and philosophical response to the negatives, John. Same as I used to tell new teachers in my dept. when a student was being unpleasant: "It's not you personally they're sounding off at... it's that you're a Teacher/Adult - and represent something they want to sound off against." Anyway - just subscribed, so that will counter at least one of the losses. Take care.. go well.

I hate it when people say "I'm unsubscribing blah blah blah", I've only ever said that I'm resubscribing after having unsubscribed due to a lack of interest in someone's videos, but if I unsubscribe, I do it without saying anything. There's really no need to telegraph it. If you're going to do it, just do it. I lost my father to cancer in 2015 and he lost a sister in 2009, just before Christmas, so I know how hard it can be. Hope you and Mandy are doing well.
So far all your reviews have been worthwhile. I watched a cool box one you did years ago. I followed your advise and so far alls been good. Keep doing them. All the best to you both.

Fair to say I don’t watch every video you post so you might be surprised to know I didn’t know about Mandy. I wish her the best and I hope she can get well soon ❤. IMO you’re gadget John = electric bikes are gadgets! In any case as you said it’s your Utube channel so the content is your choice. The subscribers can choose to watch them or not. I totally resonate with being a fraud John. Went through exactly what you and Mandy are going through since February. However it's a journey we make together and I'm sure just being there is good medicine and myself and Mrs P will continue to battle this time in our lives.
