Having effeminate mannerisms doesn't always mean someone's gay, but you'll never know nor can define a person's sexuality just because of the people they've dated.

If your mom has passed, you're going to say "C'est terrible", in the meaning "that's awful", but if you're liking something like a show or anything like that, you'll say "C'est génial, c'est terrible! " for "That's awesome" but not many people say "c'est terrible" anymore in the good way ^^.
He's straight. I remember reading an interview where he said that playing a transgender man was so hard for him because of what his father thought. It was a charming read, but I think he's just definitely expressive with his movements that might give off that look. And the scarf haha
