This just demonstrates how beneficial it is nowadays for a club to be playing in the URC. Speed of play, ideas, tactics, good set piece, tight defence etc etc….. When you’re exposed to all of that week in week out it certainly rubs off in your own performance. It also is clear that English Rugby is in serious trouble when one of the top ten clubs in England can be utterly humiliated at home by an Italian club. Eight tries conceded at home! And on the bigger stage, it wouldn’t surprise me at all this year if England lost to the Italians in the 6N. Steve Borthwick has taken on a very difficult job. He’s a good guy and I wish him the best…

The Falcons had no answer for Benetton’s Sexton-esque quick pop pass right before the contact. They just couldn’t defend those line runners.

Newcastle falcon's situation is dire. No new investment, little income, poor recruitment, no vision about getting players out on loan to gain experience. Another mass exodus of players in the summer. Fans going to see the away team resting their best players and still losing. Accept relegation is better than the club folding.
No fans, the stadium was empty.
