The part at 4:02 (and elsewhere) is so similar to Raksha's music. I love the call back to Erebus's energy that clearly pervades both creatures. Surma is a legend.
@@thebonfireofgainsit’s also strongly implied Erebus is the source of the power behind Necromancy. Whereas Magic derives from the Elders, Necromancy comes from Erebus.
How is this track not getting more attention? I honestly think this is the most powerful theme in the entire game. There’s very little downtime, and it fully embraces a theme of necromancy while further cranking it up 200% with the insane organ. It’s so much fun. Not to mention 5:09 is played during the awesome shot of Rasial that Jagex used in the original Necromancy trailer, which has a great beat that’s prevalent throughout the second part of this song. Such a badass theme, Surma is an absolute legend!
I ended up at something like 350 Hermod kc by the time I got all the plates I needed. It got to the point where I hated that boss so much that I want to erase every trace of its existence from the entire fucking game. Like, if I got the armor piece as a drop, I would just destroy it because I don't want anything to do with that fucker ever again. So there I am, doing the final quest, ready to face off against Rasial in the climactic final battle...and who the fuck shows up before the proper fight? I really fucked up Rasial for that little stunt.
Sounds like the undead in the background are asking the bartender for more shots while they watch the first necromancer and his latest apprentice fight to the double-death
i just realised, the beat of the song is in ticks, the same as runescape's gameplay, it lined up perfectly with me screening soil at the archaeology camp(with outfit bonus).... not sure if 0.6 second intervals are normal in music cause i dont know much about composition of music or really analyze it too much, but it seems kinda a fun fact
100 BPM isnt an insanely uncommon tempo in music. That being said, this piece is honestly nowhere near 100 BPM (no offense). My best estimate is ~145 BPM so a beat every 0.41 seconds. If you're looking for a piece that's exactly 100 BPM, Tick Tock from the OSRS soundtrack is basically just a 100 BPM metronome.
It's crazy how none of the boss soundtracks ever disappoint. This one, Holy Zamorak, The Cursed Warrior (Kerapac) and The Glory of Combat (Zuk) are all phenomenal tracks. Not to mention they fit so damn well in D&D as well
Maaaaan I've been using Runescape music in my 3.5e games for so long... It's really easy to find places for them. Not even just in DnD either, Runescape music is so eclectic that I've found use for it in other systems too.
@@georgeasiago7143 rasial hits to hard for this fight to last the entirety of the song. You will eat through your entire yak and inventory in about 2 or 3 minutes with how hard he trucks
I dont know which jmod needs to see this comment but can we have the final phase ramp up in sound tracks back similar to ambi and solak, the element of the finale of a fight is always goosebump iducing to me
A lot of people seem to have the habit of never playing the game on with sounds. I keep telling people to give it a try, and most of the ones that do are surprised by the music the game actually has. I don't think that many people even realize how amazing the music is. An odd habit many have picked up to be sure.
Rasial's organ is possessed by a phantom called the Spirit of Mood
This... is true power!

If Surma does one thing exceptionally well its reusing motifs and callbacks. I hope they hang onto the lad as long as possible.
It makes sense bec Erebus was what Rasial feared most. And Raksha was powered by shadow anima from Erebus

@ed4416 Is it also the level up sounds for 99 plus

It's so worth getting to Rasial even just for this track alone

Zuk ost has entered the chat
Aod, dogs of war, clan wars and rax music is still the best tbh but this comes close
0:51 sounds a lot like another Julian Surma track - Last King of the Yarasa, which is an Old-School Runescape song.
I've lived long enough to see a new skill released once again. :')
also my zuk cape! :'(
best skill ftw, even if its op
If u don't well use the skill to revive you
"Let's see what you have learned."
Misalionar, the First Necromancer
Hah, it's hilarious how everyone was right on the money with Misalionar being Rasial like from the very beginning.
god i love the chorus on this track

Surma never disappoints. It's a shame the fight is so short because we don't get to hear this in it's entirety often.
Jokes on you. If you’re bad at PvM, you get to hear the whole banger.
But what if you are so bad you get sent to deaths office :p

I went from 371kc to getting a drop every 20kc at 800kc. Drysial no more
rs3 may have the best soundtrack of any game I know, besides maybe halo
Huh there is a second stage to the song at 4:45
Is it me or I hear a hammer smithing sound at 0:27?
classic surma
Phantom over there should be holding a shield not a sword 😂😂😂

Streamers really be playing their shitty edm/house Vimeo playlist whilst keeping tracks like this muted. 🤦♂️

Is there a way we can hear this banger at soundcloud? :D
