My guess on the two knobs levers were for the Track Brake and Swing Brake? I believe they had air operated mechanical drum brakes for the swing and final drives?
@bert26a I'd love to capture one working, but these days its rare even just to find a dead rusty one,its a different era now,I'm always trying to preserve some of it on here
These things were suppose to be pretty powerful at least according to the old guys. It would be nice to see a video of some of these old things digging.
@69rd96 But what are the pedals for? The left lever should be swing, the right the boom, and stick and bucket on two separate pedals. That leaves two extra pedals, so I'm guessing travel. Some of the older backhoes had hydraulic drive, but still steered with jaw clutches. They were controlled by levers like those. I don't think that's the case with this thing. Possibly a swing brake, and something else? A mystery. It probably made it 40ft. before breaking down!
Clint-- your reply is 9 year ago so this might not matter-- I have Insley 1500 and Drott 40--the Insley was facing pedal Left=bucket Next on right=Left propel Next on right= Right propel Next on right=Arm ( dipper) The Drott I can have control pattern -A-B-C-D to set excavator up with pedals the same way as the Insley The air control on the video I thing so the Operater. does not have to use feet for function just my guess.
Who really wants to look at an old piece of equipment that you need a hell of an imagenation to try & figure out what it exactly did when it was functionable? This is real boring IMHO...
love these kind of videos

I think those little air handles on the left side of the seat are for the travel motors, air operated circut like on the old BE cranes.
Hi Matt from diesel creek would love this machine if it's available
@jeremylee99100 Early 1970's.Hopto,Bantam,Lorain,Warner & Swasey and others all had right side cabs then

Oh,it's a runner, its since moved away from this creek cleaning gravel site.
is the cab on the opeset side as a normal excavater
who måde that? Very often booms Crack from twisting sideload by using swing to backfill.
What engine does it have?
how old do you think this thing is
where did you find it
Forse funziona ancora 😂😢😅
Rotek is a bearing company in Ohio they make large bearings for excavators and big equipment.
I used to run one of these in Calgary. What a slow piece of @$#%^%. Cracked carbody that had to be welded once a week.
abandoned?
it has a nice seat at least
hymach uk export machine only 270 degree swing,,,detroit engine,,,
