Good Morning. I own a 2018 ktm 1090 adventure R; I really liked the video, especially the modification of the air filter box, who makes this modification? Thank you.
Hi I have a 2017 1090r just got a JT front sprocket 16 tooth to replace the stock 17 tooth do you think it would be wise fore me to try it out or am I just wasting my time and $$?
Jimmy I'm a builder and I'm thinking of chopping my 1090 and ditching the stock tank and going with KTM 450 rally tank for the rear and split tanks up front. I'm hoping for better center of gravity, access to the air filter without fuss and better movement on the saddle. Or do you recommend just a good damper setup first and then evaluate. Honestly I'm just not confident enough in the loose stuff as it is.
I'd recommend a riding school first @jimmylewisoffroad and then maybe a physcologist to talk you off the ledge of trying to make something into something it can never be...I'll go into this tonight on Tech Talk Taco Tuesday #73
@@DirtBikeTest Jimmy, I'm relieved to hear my bike is perfect the way it is, that will save a ton of time. A class is a brilliant idea, maybe I can share some product development or frame building tips in trade.
Great looking build, thanks for the ideas. I can’t find a radiator guard that fits my 2017 1090 Adventure R without leaving some of the radiator exposed. I’ve tried Alt Riders as well as the KTM PowerParts aluminum guard. Any advice?
Thanks Jimmy. A little off topic but I have a Husky 701 and I'm considering a Rekluse clutch for it, but want a left hand rear brake if I go that route. Do you have any experience with the auto-clutch on these bigger bikes or with left hand rear brake setups? I haven't found a rear brake setup I like yet.
I do and they work the same as on small bikes. I don't have it on this bike since I have to do so many demos on it and I need to explain and demonstrate the clutch use. I don't use the hand brake since I swap between so many different bikes and I can usually get my foot on the brake pedal when I need. The hand rear brake seems to fit bicycle riders better than motorcycle riders and I have not found one I really like the feel of if I were to use it.

I can get a low milage 1090 R cheaper then a T7, which one would you get?

In all of the riding I do I have not had an issue and we have a lot of rocks flinging up from the front wheel. On my R bikes I only have stock.
Dirt Bike Test Ok, good to know. Thank for the reply.
