Even if you don't get the real message from the lyrics, the song is still very catchy to be used for music jamming, and likewise, those who may not like the beat or tune of the song can still appreciate the meaning of the lyrics. But to me, it is a combination of both, and that's the real definition of a "timeless and classic" song.

I thought Sirena and Hari ng Tondo were great, but this one, Magda is I think the best of all. Grabe lang talaga si Gloc-9, grabe yung mga kanta nia, talagang may saysay at very realistic. I dunno why, pero this line hit me “Isa lang ang kaya kong sayo'y maipagmalaki Ikaw lang ang bukod tanging hinalikan ko sa labi.” Although, a kiss seemed so simple, he made it as if a kiss has more meaning than sex per se. His words are so powerful, talagang tutusok sa puso mo. And ofc, I wanna commend din yung mga tumulong to make the music and yung mga nakacollab nia. That harpsichord driven intro that evokes baroque music, the theatrical orchestral samples during the climax of the song’s last verse, to the tasteful synth motifs as well as the flawless key changes during that said climax. Everyone is an Angel in my opinion, this high culture low culture perception of music is an excuse elitists use to smugly condescend towards said low culture: like, “tol, tol, wala namang musical substance yang taste mong tugtugan.” Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely guilty of this as well, and I’m not doing my beloved genres a favor by doing that. Kaya nga hanga ako sa kantang to e, kasi it achieved such a flawless marriage of cultures. Siguro, music has just a way of roller coasting its focus on complexity through out western history: from the polyrhythmic and counterpoint driven music of Bach, to the elegant simplicity of Mozart’s, to Chopin’s romantic antics, to the stripped down atmospheric approach of impressionism, then to the revolutionary complexity of jazz’s harmony. Obviously, these examples are only gross oversimplifications of this up and down pattern. Trap rap ang uso ngayon, heavily focused on repetitive electronic beats, so malay natin, something interestingly inventive ang kasunod.

When I was young I used to listen to every song of Gloc 9 and didn't know they were very meaningful. Now, I keep listening to his song.
I appreaciate Gloc 9's boldness to tackle these topics in a different light. Usually, you hear women (and even men) being sexually exploited by Western pop (and yes, that includes Germany). Sadly, the Philippines is trying to imitate it. Gloc-9 is one of those who break away from Western "pop" culture. For Frederick Gerda I know that you Germans are very much "experimental" and "idealistic" when it comes to music... But please know that many Filipino mucisians are trying to take Philippine pop music to a whole new level. And please understand that Filipinos in general are reality-driven... And I know a few who make music like you do. At least there are a brave few who try to uplift our pop culture, which is better instead of having none at all.
