My Ronin sat in its case for 2 years. I bought it in December 2018, worked great. Turned it on the other day, batteries dead. Everything you mentioned in the video, happened to me.
They discounted it for a reason and they didn’t notice anyone who bought it why … I’m thinking we may have a lawsuit on our hands if we can gather everyone who’s been fucked over
I’m not the most knowledgeable but if they realized all there ronin ms are having the same issue and they discounted them why didn’t they issue a recall and help out anyone who purchased an M .. besides the batteries there’s a firmware/ wiring issue
DJI is focused on making money not excelent products. I had exactly the same call on my end with DJI. They even said "oh yeah then you have to buy a DJI RS2 or get the successor the Ronin 2. I am still owning the Original Ronin 1 who can stabilize 7kg payloads which none of the DJI RS3's or RS2's can. And I am not willing to use counterweights all the time to just balance my Red camera. I'm working on a V-Mount / P-Tap / D-Tap solution on my own.
Should have told DJI that RS line is crap. It doesn't even come close to the R1 stabilization accuracy, not speaking of the overall quality issues (latches that doesn't hold etc). Basically the only way to move from R1 is to a Movi Pro (which is also kinda old but still has support from Freefly and accessories still being sold), or to move to the R2, which is too bulky and heavy to carry for an average person (at 7kgs for the ronin itself). And it still use the proprietary batteries that at some moment were out of stock also (hello covid 2020). I really hope some other brand will come up with normal sized and average payload capacity (7-9kgs), and NON PROPRIETARY batteries and accessories. This "ecosystem" shit doesn't stick too long.
@@alexlubensky I agree a 1000% with you. Only Gimbal I would buy is the Movi Pro after the R1. Still bigger and heavier than the R1 but super reliable and I never had issues with their products and if I had questions they were super kind unlike Dji.
Have a mx now for one and a half year and the batteries are still good. A school I went to had a ronin M that was in use 24/7 in quite a rough environment with bad user condition. But the M was still going strong. Only time it broke down was one year before me when the students fried the motor after a lot of careless usage with them not calibrating it. Got fixed and belive it is still going strong. I live in Norway (EU) and wondering what region you are located in if you're experiencing that the batteries sucks? Can it be a regional production problem?
Crazy cuz I bought a new battery, used it from time to time but left it at storage charge for around 3 months. Went to use it and it displayed 2.5 / 4 ‘bars’ of battery but then it wouldn’t power on? Plugged it into charger and it killed itself off. 🤦🏼♂️
You had it plugged in to charge for 3 months?! If my knowledge about batteries are correct then hat should be a death sentence for any type of batteries...
Лучшее видео на все времена . Ненавижу DJI ! Жадная компания . Попал в такую же ситуацию. Переходник на V MOUNT сделал один человек у себя в подвале , а @DJI не могут это выпустить и облегчить страдания стольких людей
Glad I paid only 100$ for the entire Ronin-M setup earlier this year. A classic "proprietary battery sucks and patent prevents third party intervention" scenario, I see. Whenever it dies, it dies. I ain't buying a new gimbal, I don't use it enough to justify spending more than 200$ on one. Also, the older gimbals are pretty much left to die when it comes to software support, the newer app won't even recognize them and you have to download an .apk from DJI website just to run the app, and then it's only a matter of luck to get the bluetooth to pair. Cable connection to a computer also kinda sucks.
@@CarlosMelendez00there is a guy from thailand who made it possible himself. But that power distribution module isnt available anymore and like nobody has it. I have two bloated batteries laying around and I'll try to create a D-Tap connection to the batteryhead. Wish me luck.
@pascalbraendle yeah I saw that too. I would like one made for me. Please send me one .lol Dji would do us favor if it released a module and firmware that would bypass its "smart" power. Even without a guarantee of as is. This case resembles the issue with electric vehicles but even worse as not having a working battery to replace. I don't buy DJI anymore. I just avoid them.
@@CarlosMelendez00 yeah same, if i can't make it work i'll be done with DJI and just move on to systems like the Movi Pro by freeflystystems which is actually made from filmmakers for filmmakers.
Maybe it’s just a faulty unit Or batteries or something mine works fine I’ve had it for three years I only have like three batteries for it good video and good Warning have you reached out to the company I haven’t fixed the issue?
what the fuck is this plate that can replace the batteries? all I see is the power distribution box that says it uses your battery (that doesn't work) to power your camera and other shit for the gimble.

Do you know if the Ronin 1 batteries have the issue Ronin M/MX batteries have?

Ive actually never used my Ronin M. I bought it and it collected dust. When I went to finally use it the batteris were DEAD :(
You selling the ronin?
@@WLVisuals Actually yes. Open to the best offer. Have not put it up online yet.
just wanted to buy ronin m from marketplace
thanks for video
Basically Big Battery at play here, I won’t be buying from DJI anytime soon.
The t mount wiring is the issue with the ronin ms .. now I see why they discounted it .. because once that wire gets hit once your fucked
What's this T Mount wiring?. I've never heard of this.
wondering if I should recycle my ronin m or donate it or sell it, mine just sat and batteries died
Donate it to me 🙏🏾
Same here. i even bought two new batteries in 21' and tried to charge them today and no go.

Ronin m also won't work after a year didn't used
So whats your advice 4 buying now ?
They should have made these things with something like V-Mount or NP-F batteries...

I can't even find the app for Android on the play store. Do you know where I can find it?
Maybe there's a option to replace original batteries with vmount?
they used to sell an auxillary power adapter that allowed the use of v-mount

you can buy the batteries from dji. I have recently ordered 2 for the mx
How are those batteries now?

What about powering the ronin with a vmount? Is that maybe working…
