  • "Warriors in Transition: A Story of Resilience" was created by the U.S. Army Warrior Transition Command, March 2011.
On February, 19, 2007, during his second deployment to Iraq, the vehicle SSG Harris was traveling in was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED), killing three Soldiers, wounding the driver, and leaving SSG Harris with third degree burns on 35% of his body.
So that Shilo could recover at home, Kathreyn became Shilo's primary caregiver spending up to six hours a day on his wound care. Additionally, she was mom to their daughter and stepmom to his three sons. During his recovery, she became an Advocate for the Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) to support other wounded warriors at Brooke Army Medical Center.
WTC Commander BG Darryl A. Williams encourages you to take time and get to know Shilo and Kathreyn Harris and their story of resilience.

Shilo, its been a while since ive last seen you. Hi im marissa dunagan. I am rusty and angie dunagan's eldest daughter, and I hope you remember me. Even though you may not see this comment, I hope you are doing well, and are able to keep going despite certain challenges you may still have day in and day out.
And for all of you strangers on this awesome community called youtube (that are american citizens and/or those that support America with everything you have.) Thank you for the support that you all give to the troops, active, retired or deceased. I know what it is like to live with a disabled veteran, and I appreciate all of the support. It is welcomed warmly.
I just wanted to let people know that their comments are read by not only those whom they are intended for, but also those who have been or are going through similar situations. Thank you for all of the positive and inspiring comments, prayers and support.

Compared to some other guys, he looks pretty good. Check out Bobby Henline. He's all sorts of fucked up. Nevertheless, thyy are still badass, and they're still brave. Thanks for serving the US.

Kind of a misleading title, using the word "transition"
