posted along time ago. but I see some stuff that looks like model dollhouse stuff! I love what you've done. i use a lot of the stuff from the model dollhouse kits in my big houses! Nice work!!!
Its been quite some time since I have built it, but if I remember correctly, I have cut out the same size and just glued it in there. I wanted to use the space instead of having stairs.
Your dollhouse is gorgeous! I have a question. You mentioned you spray painted the shingles. My question: Did you spray the shingles before you punched them out? If not, what method did you us? I am making my second dollhouse and really did like the dark shingles. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank yo.
Rosanna Melim-Souza Hi Rosanna. The roof tiles comes with the kit as you probably know. I just spraypainted them with one of those cans that makes special effects when you spray them. I obviously sprayed them first before I pasted them to the roof as its much easier.
I like to put my wallpaper up while the sheets are not built. Its easier, although it might be neater if the paper is not cut in the corners. Having said that, it never bothered me.
I love it! It makes me feel happy to look at. Some of the other Victorian dollhouses, while beautiful, give me a feeling of heavy oppression because they're so dark and gloomy. This is bright and airy and cheerful!
This is so amazing, girl! You did a GORGEOUS job! You make all of your houses so realistic and detailed. Now I want to make some lol! Love all your work! Keep it up, girly!
Hello my name is grandma sandy and i would like to know what material you used for your shingles .Also, where did you get your wallpaper . very cute btw
Your dollhouse is Beautiful!!My first dollhouse was an Orchid also... but it surely didn't look like this. You have truly inspired me to try it again. Just Lovely😊
Hello Miss Elize! I am so elated to have run across your channel, simply by "accident"(?!). I am overjoyed that I did! I have a Tracy Topps Greenleaf house, my favorite of all that I've made or own!, and although a simple kit as well, it too, is absolutely stunning. It's a masterpiece!! 💕🥰 Although, a fully different style, yours too is a dream to behold (and right up my alley)! Wow...! You're truly an miniaturist artisan, and, second to a very few! Thank you so very much for sharing with us all! I am blessed to be one of your new subs and look forward to seeing your future works of art. Many blessings from Texas ~ Christine xo 🥰
@Denise Hello Miss Denise! It actually depends upon the scale of your house. The most common scale is 1:12 (or 1/12). The simple way to test yours is to imagine that every one inch of your dollhouse is equivalent to one foot in real life. Another example is the 1:24 (or 1/24th) scale. It's half the size of 1:12, therefore one inch in dollhouse life to 2 feet in real life. I hope this helps! Take care. 🥰
I love how each Orchid kit comes out so different :) All are beautiful and your orchid house is gorgeous. I love the pink and white colors.
+Rosie Summer Thank you so much Rosie

Its been quite some time since I have built it, but if I remember correctly, I have cut out the same size and just glued it in there. I wanted to use the space instead of having stairs.

Can you tell me how you blocked the hole where the stairs would go.?

Hi Linda, yes I sprayed them while they are still in sheet form. Otherwise the fly all over the place.
I love how you did the roof, I just purched this kit myself. I was wondering how you did the roof?

I just started building this doll house
My 3 yr old has this DOLL house and I have no idea where to start. How did you put the wallpaper up? Before or after assembly?
I like to put my wallpaper up while the sheets are not built. Its easier, although it might be neater if the paper is not cut in the corners. Having said that, it never bothered me.
