Couple ideas - attaching the portals to either side of a suspension glitch that flings it around everywhere - and making an AI that follows you and tries to catch you with a portal attached to it that may or may not send you to your death.
5:59 Multiplayer Monday idea! Each player builds a small castle and then you get a certain amount of time with one of those blocks with 2 portals on it and a hammer to destroy as much as you can. 12:00 no the portal has a high velocity relative to you but you have a low velocity relative to it so all it’s like is if you were standing still and had a door thrown at you, the portal will retain momentum not the person
I think that momentum is not connected to the speed of the portal, but rather the speed of the object passing threw it. This is because a portal that moves simply changes in distance from the other portal, and if the object isn't moving there will be no momentum to to transfer.

on a similar note, I think the portals on the ground don't work because the character hits the floor at the same time as entering the portal, they would probably conserve momentum if you didn't hit the ground before entering them. Probably because their collision is really flat and you hit the ground as you enter (or clip through the ground) which is shown in the top + bottom portal loop as the player enters the landing animation every time they loop through the portals. The bots also took damage when they went through the ground portals at high speeds, because they hit the ground at high speed and thus lost all their speed. i would put this in a regular comment, but youtube doesn't let me post comments for some reason.
Scrapman, I’m sure you are aware, but just in case you aren’t, Teardown has a new expansion that, I’m sure I speak for a lot of your audience when I say, we’d love to see you play it.
I think it would be like 2 cars driving at 60mph and hitting head on. They do not hit at 120mph of force but only at 60mph (thank you Mythbusters). So since you are not moving when the portal hits you, you have no momentum to transfer.
That floor-eating car looks like it would be awesome for multiplayer spleef. Make the floor a couple layers deep so you can have fun getting stuck, but people can also cut out chunks and fall through. Or, just make it solid all the way down and play it as the last person able to move wins.

I'd imagine that any velocity retention through a portal jump would depend on the technology being used to create them in the first place. If the portals are more like wormholes, where they're actually connecting two points in space-time, then I suppose velocity would/should be retained. But if the portals are deconstructing and reconstructing atoms, then that would probably negatively affect the velocity.
The fact that the portals decided to only consume and transport certain types of matter and didnt mind being used as wheels is blowing my mind... Ooooh i have to show this to shoddycast
I don't know if you made this video after happening across the ASAP Science/5MinutePhysics video talking about portals and sending portals through each other; I also don't know if my follows suggest is possible if Scrap Mechanic, but if it is possible, you should try inserting a portal into the other one at an angle. On the topic of getting a portal thrown at you I was always under the impression you wouldn’t retain the velocity of the portal, but maintain whatever velocity you were moving at before? As the portal isn’t technically imparting any force on you, no acceleration should be applied, right? If you were to move at the speed of the portal, some amount of force would need to be applied in order to accelerate you, which just isn’t happening

How so?
What if you guys made a winter MM where you make snow plows and you use portals to pick up the snow and then blow it out another portal like irl.
What if you and kan did a digging competition with this mod
Do sensors still register the color or overall existence of block send through portal?
Using them as a mining car it gives you a more natural tunnel/cave like build
WHERE ARE THE NUKES!!? In the good old days every creation went off with a blast. These days I only hear lift's stupid and boring noise. ALSO game crashes happen a lot less than before but NUKES!! (Not related 100%) To be honest I am little disappointed. #bringbacknukes
Can a portal warp stop an explosion/do trashed explosives still detonate if they've been triggered?
Can resources be portalled and do they stay valid or are they rendered into garbage?
Portal shield. Get a tape bot to shoot at you only to have a portal yeet its tape back at it. That being said, can you send the Farm Bot's chemical blobs back at it as well?
Also with the portal question it’s like a door way and it slides your way and it goes over you you’ll still be at the same speed
Create a Frisbee launcher, but the frisbee is a portal, then have 2 of them fight until one breaks.
Portals have multiple possibilities because like the state you where in is the state you come out so even though the portal has energy you do not, or if you hit the portal as 100mph you exit so you can be right and wrong at the same time it's like schordingers cat theory
Here stupidly crazy idea what would happen if you put the portals on a bike or a motorcycle? Bottom front and back your call ScrapMan give him your results with the car at the 10:06 mark you can see where my heads going.
You forgot to test the glow bug as they die and despawn easy. Have you tried it under water yet?

Imagine a racetrack with those sloped portal racers.
Idea for Multiplayer Monday, you cold do portal spleef with the wedge portals on the car
next episode should be workshop hunters on trailmakers. i may have made some vehicles for you to try out.
Portal saw!!!
Multiplayer Monday, destruction Derby race with portals on the cars
Now we need mod that adds bloodborn pizza cutter, but with portals instead of sawblades
On the topic of getting a portal thrown at you
I was always under the impression you wouldn’t retain the velocity of the portal, but maintain whatever velocity you were moving at before? As the portal isn’t technically imparting any force on you, no acceleration should be applied, right? If you were to move at the speed of the portal, some amount of force would need to be applied in order to accelerate you, which just isn’t happening
day 47 of asking scrapman to do a multiplayer where everyone starts at the crashed ship with a craftbot already at the mechanic station and everyone has 30 minutes to build a vehicle from scratch, no glitches, thrusters allowed, after which everyone meets up and races along some road
Make a escape room that uses portals in the next multiplayer monday.
Maybe make a rule that you only can put portals on white surfaces like in the original portal game.
