isa,..... all the voices that we are hearing here are no longer alive todate,.....the guy who is singing the number two note (domo 2) the late Waisea Rogoyawa just left us last year December 26th 2011......RIP dad
@ Johnny Qoroya,.....io the old man passed away last year, around boxing day holiday ........indeed that style of Fijian Music is no longer seen our heard in Fiji now,.......but this were the guys that rocked the 70's & 80's here in Fiji........love their music to the max eventhough I'm not from the same generation.....RIP dad.
Isaa kauta mai na vaka nananu I noda na sere qo , nanumi rau dina noqu I tubutubu ni dau dua tu neitou veleti ni vakatagi kei na Voqa kei turaki ❤😢 brings back lots of memories in the 70s and the 80s 😢
Isa bula vinaka Lai, miss your dad's voice and smiling face, I have never once saw your dad angry but always smiling, he seems to love life and what he was doing in the musical world. Anyway, Lai good to know you through this medium. God bless and keep in touch. Yes, will always be listening to your dad's song, especially when I'm home sick and to recapture the fun of the good old days.
so sad to0 learn that Wise is no longer around, RIP, Mr.Wise, those were the good old days when your voice made every grog session so sweet , yea all nite long!
Malo e lelei and thanks for the upload, wonderful ol skool fijian group. From memory, "Namosi" is the title of this song. I used to have an old cassette tape copy of the album where this song hails from. Regrettably my copy went missing but thanks once again for sharing the song as I am now going strolling down memory lane. Malo aupito & sa moce 4 now as I eagerly await the rest of the songs off the album uploaded soon, please.
Can anyone share any info on the Cripple Serenaders. Where and when they were formed and it's talented members??? Have great memories of listening to them in the days of radio and cassetes !! Timeless Fijian Classics.
Isa l use to buy grog for them most nite while they practice songs to be recorded in their album name Au luveni yali...in Stino Elliot home in Raiwaqa early 80s before the house belong to Master Solo Vosaicake teaching at Cripple school.
I met Stino in Vatukoula (1956) , he later formed his own group called Crippled Serenaders , a real gentleman . Namosi and Vunidawa were closely related , before Ratu Sukuna canceled our Province to allow the qaranivalu to be the chief of Naitasiri . During this time indigenous people are not allowed to walk or attend any public meetings with Europeans , Stino was always besides us even they were allowed to . The part- European people have their own schools and residential areas . I sa o “koiciqu” 😃😊😄🥲 .
Great Fijian classic still listening, still listening in 2024
