Good to see you had a good hunt. That's too bad Canada has lots of $2 counterfeits in circulation. I like the QE2 solemn toonies. This is one I'd like to add to my collection sometime. Thanks for sharing.
@@CADRollHunter FYI...I gave you a little shoutout on "My Canada 5 Cents Album (Fill #3)My Canada 5 Cents Album (Fill #3)" video. I'm almost done with that album.
It's a shame that you got so many fakes - I don't mind getting a few, but 9 is a lot. And congrats on finding circulation KC3s! I have yet to find one in any denomination.
NICE 1997! Also congrats on the riopelle and the king chuck. The ones I find all come up damaged. Finally got a BU 2002 so I'll have to check for the dot. Thanks for reminding me!
Thanks so much! I'd seen these varieties listed in the Charlton Catalogue for years, but it was only when I started coin roll hunting that I was able to find any, by searching in volume.
@@CADRollHunter I must have gone through 25,000 toonies in this last year. It's hard to find some of the things you do so I can tell you work at it. Keep up the fun content!
Nice hunt, and a good variety of finds! Here in London, Ontario, I've only found the nickel, dime, and quarter so far with King Charles. I need to pick up the pace a bit on toonies and loonies, LOL; they haven't ever really been my go-to!
I've got one of each, but there are a few fakes out there I haven't got just yet. Keeping my eyes open. I really don't want to find too many... just enough to get the ones I don't have!
I'm in BC and after searching dozens of boxes of Toonies, I found my first fake "Camel Toe" this week. Looks like they are concentrated around the Toronto area? So far I have found all of the new KC coins except the Quarter.
I was lucky enough to find 2 nickels and 2 quarters for KC3 in my change. Keeping everyone find and have all my friends checking their change for me as well lol
I believe they should be minted at 1 Million. That's what the Mint has beeing doing the last number of years with the commemoratives. 1M for non-coloured, and 2M for coloured. They could change that at any time, of course, but it's held up over the last number of years.
My nickels and Quarters are in Lighthouse Vista Canada albums, and my pennies are in the Lighthouse Vista Nature album. You can use discount code CRH20 to get 20% off any orders at www.lighthousecanada.ca
How is there so many fakes I’m looking for someone to trade rolls of American for Canadian coins any denomination great video my northern brother thank you so very much for sharing hope you have a wonderful weekend 👍👍❤️
Here are the mintages for the 2023 Canada Charles circulation coins: 5c - 28 million 10c - 43 million 25c - 80 million 1 dollar (loon design only) - 22 million 2 dollars (polar bear design only) - 9 million
hey .. so i was going through some of my loose change and found the '22 black rimmed toonie , but i also have one 2019 that , on the head side , has " bumps " inside the rim , like it wasnt struck properly or something - do you have any idea what this may be ? If you turn it on an angle it is really easy to see .. And I had NO idea about the fake toonies - did some research about it - very interesting - I will have to keep an eye on them , so thanks for that info ..
Thanks for watching. Most of the new toonies will have those bumps inside the rim. These impressions are made when the edge lettering is stamped into the edge of the coin, which occurs after the coins are struck.
Forgive me if you have addressed this in the past, but do you have any recourse for receiving fake Toonies? Can you bring them back to the bank you got them from? Or are you “stuck” with them? If you tried to spend them or cash them, could you be prosecuted… despite the fact that a bank provided them to you?
I've been able to return them to the bank and they've exchanged them for me. I've kept some, of course, for my collection. I dont' think the average person would get in any trouble if they unknowingly spent them - most people cannot tell the difference. I suppose if you spent it and you knew that it was fake, you could get into trouble, but I'm not aware of any charges/prosecutions for passing a fake toonie in a purchase.
@@CADRollHunter Thanks for your response. That makes sense. Perhaps one would only get in trouble if they accumulated a large quantity of counterfeit coins and then tried to spend them all at once. That would look too suspicious.
Congrats for your finds. Too bad those conterfelts are still there. And those thieves were not even smart enough to use the same standard digits as the Mint. Look at their "6" in 2006, and their "9" in 1952-2002. Their stupid font really strikes when you look at it, and you know right away it's a conterfelt. I'm sure they also sound different from a real one. I think it's a reason why I don't tend to hunt toonies...
on my latest nickel came across a 2023 nickel with the king. what does iccs charge for grading and what is the best way to do it. also is it worth it to save cupo nickels in good shspe at all
So far, I'm not saving any of the cupro-nickel coins. It might very well be worth it now - I'd have to look it up. As for ICCS, all the info on their service is here: iccscoin.ca I've only submitted as part of a bulk order, so I'm not too certain about submitting individual coins.
hello i look at iccs sit and one thing i wonder they said they don't grade error coins, does that mean my bare belly, attach 6 1996 nickel and rotated coins don't send them in@@CADRollHunter
on iccs i had some coins to have them check out but i have to wait until i have some one to pay for them maybe i will try and set e transfer, or do certified check but its fun trying to figure out the gst, It should be like ebay and add it at the end of check out and when i do try and submit it will take my coins about a week to get to them, and how do you fill out that add new item, maybe you should do a video of trying to do this it would like be great to see.@@CADRollHunter
I know they say that on their website, but they do grade some errors and varieties. My Attached 6 is labelled as such. CCCS does seem to label more errors and varieties, but I don't actually know anything about them.

Some nice finds in this toonie hunt. The 'Wait for Me' commemorative looked to be in wonderful condition. Best of luck!
Thanks 👍
Cool. King Charles obverses are rare to date as you know. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching, Bruce! I'll hold on to all of the KC3 I find, at least until we know what the mintages are. Take care!
Love to see the newly minted 2 dollars. Hope less counterfiets will come in the way of us coin roll hunters

Lot of fantastic finds, James! Got to hate those fakes. Scopes are great. I have 2 types. They are a real need for coin roll hunting.

Wow. That's a significant number of fakes and it seems to be growing. I'm still averaging 0.05% fakes here in the middle of nowhere quebec.
They're definitely all over the place here!
Congrats on finding King Charles III. I still only have found a dime and a nickel with the King after searching so many rolls.
