Thank you for sharing your opinion! It was definitely a different decision to make the holes off-center, but I liked the idea of trying something unconventional. I appreciate that you see it as something impressive. I understand it may not be for everyone, but for me, it's an interesting addition. In addition, I would like to mention that since both holes were off-center, I carefully adjusted the position of one part when finishing the screwing, perfectly aligning the two parts. So, despite the initial off-center setup, the end result turned out to be aligned and visually pleasing
Not happy with that repair, center punch with awl, start with small drill and work up to diameter necessary. You’re drill bit is swimming. Instead of screw use threaded dowel and resin glue. You’re repair is doomed to fail.
I'm so sorry but, this is the sloppiest job I have ever see. Centering is the most important issue in this repairing job. Sanding ,cutting or drilling is basically common sense. That rag was not going to protect the wood from getting a nice scratch from that vice.
Indeed, it is not a job that highlights the skill of the furniture maker (after all, I have nothing to do with the profession). The purpose of the video is to show how with a screw you can save a broken cane and to answer an old woman who asked for help and this help was given for free. Anyway, thanks for the advice and kind way of commenting. Thank you also for watching the video
Should have shown how to locate the center. Should have test fit. Should have put on a replacement ferrule before putting it together permanently.
Yes indeed, in this way it would be done professionally. Thanks for your advice
Thanks very helpful and handy video

Great method thanks
Thanks for watching the video
should have used an awl to find centre. otherwise a good fix.
Yes, what you say is right! Thank you very much for the comment!
How sturdy is the break after glue dries? And what oil, etc., is bst for long life of the wood?
It is stronger than before! The screw makes it very strong
