Have viewed many versions and in this one, the eighth move 3:18 is a heel raise instead of a solid DROP which is supposed to ward off disease. The number of reps for each move may vary. The SHAOLIN TEMPLE KUNG FU CENTER has an easy to follow practice version of baduanjin qigong: slo mo, Eng Sub and with front and back views, dated 3/15/18.
Sorry, I meant to say that this method of practice is about 80% physical exercise and only about 20% qigong. True qigong practice has fixed postures because you have to wait for sufficient internal chi to reach the endpoint before moving on to the next movement; otherwise, the effect on clearing the energy channels is minimal. Secondly, each posture must use the mind to guide the internal chi. Only this way can each posture achieve the effect of clearing the energy channels. Thirdly, all movements must be slow, gentle, and relaxed; you cannot use force to stretch. Stretching can lead to muscle stiffness, hindering the flow of internal chi. Fourthly, the flow of internal chi is very slow, so if the movements are too fast, the chi cannot keep up, reducing the effectiveness of disease treatment and health maintenance. Fifthly, the body should not rise and fall too much; otherwise, it will cause the internal chi to float upwards, leading to an increase in false fire of chi, and will also obstruct the internal chi from descending along the Ren channel to the Dantian or from sinking to the soles of the feet to clear the leg energy channels. Eight Pieces of Brocade is an excellent set of qigong exercises that has been passed down for over 800 years. Unfortunately, the popular version of Eight Pieces of Brocade today has been downgraded, with the original chi gong practice being changed into a form of physical exercise. This is a disservice to the ingenious design of our predecessors. We have a responsibility to restore it to its former advanced practice. Moreover, when practicing qigong, it is essential to understand its principles. Otherwise, it is very easy to practice incorrectly and develop chi deviations. If you are interested in learning the true theory and practice of Eight Pieces of Brocade, please search "丹道八段錦" on UA-cam, and you will understand what real chi gong is.
One of the Wikipedia articles about qi (气) calls it a pseudo-concept, I think. Watching these men do the eight brocade and especially passing the hands up and down in front of the body cannot miss that they are pushing/pulling something around. I call it "combing".
Total is 8 move. 1 both hand stretch up 2 archer stance left and right 3 single hand push up while the other push down 4 head sway side to side 5 look back 6 bend back and front 7 horse stance fist pushing front and side 8 lift with toes That is why it call 8 Brocades Qigong
I have seen several demonstrations of this practice and everybody does it different!. The general movement is the same but there are little changes here and there. I don't know which is the "official" one. Any suggestions?
Not 8 moves -only 7 movements - it is fake BA DUAN JIN! Я насчитал только 7 движений - фальшивый комплекс. 6-е движение потеряно, а после 7-го нормального идет 4-е нормальное в других версиях!
Da könnte man noch stundenlang zusehen....! Das beste Training für Körper und Geist. Es sollte bei uns ein Schulfach sein!
Mitmachen ! ❤

I'm trying to relax, but they're all shouting like warriors.
..because there are warriors. Buddhism Warrior monks.
You can do it slower and softer. These are shaolin warrior monk variation of Ba Duan Jin. They put more force in it.
Good

This version is more martial the wudang version is slower and more relaxed.
this is faster than what i've usually seen, but great nonetheless :)
I think some parts are sped up, otherwise they are kind of weird. I'm definitely taking the arrow move, it seems so neat there

Great variation of the 8 brocades routine; The poor quality of the film however is disappointing.
