Sir i have an doubt on DOL starter. My doubt is in case of motor we use the starter to reduce the starting current due to absence of back emf in starting havey current flows in starting. That's why we use starter. But in DOL starter provide 6 to 7 times of full load current in starting. And how this current is not affected to the motor winding. Normally we use the starter to reduce starting current for the safety of motor but here we provide a higher amount of current in starting. How it is possible and how can a motor sustain that much of current without any problems.
Pradeepta, here I have noticed two major question that how motor can sustain high Starting current and why motor takes high Starting current. High Starting current don't affect motor insulation as current comes down in millisecond. But if we start motor again and again then it will definitely detoriate winding insulation. Sir KVAH ke bare me bataye.. Hum company me hamesha KWH divide by KVAH karke pf nikalte hain... But KVAH to reactive power nahi hota shayad.
