Johann Baptist Strauss II also known as Johann Strauss Jr., the Younger, the Son , was an Austrian composer of light music, particularly dance music and operettas. He composed over 500 waltzes, polkas, quadrilles, and other types of dance music, as well as several operettas and a ballet. In his lifetime, he was known as "The Waltz King", and was largely responsible for the popularity of the waltz in Vienna during the 19th century. Some of Johann Strauss's most famous works include "The Blue Danube", "Kaiser-Walzer" (Emperor Waltz), "Tales from the Vienna Woods", "Frühlingsstimmen", and the "Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka". Among his operettas, Die Fledermaus and Der Zigeunerbaron are the best known. Strauss was the son of Johann Strauss I and his first wife Maria Anna Streim. Two younger brothers, Josef and Eduard Strauss, also became composers of light music, although they were never as well known as their brother.

a short funny memory from my childhood.. .
i was three or four years old, when I would get on the chair (which was a podium, in my imagination), I would close my eyes and dream that I was conducting the orchestra and the whole world (I was a kind of Sergiu Celibidache, my dear and fabulous Romanian)
i didn't become a conductor, but I don't exist, I don't fall asleep, I don't wake up, I don't love, without classical music - it gives me the start, it carries me, alive and with it, I will die...
classical music is food, for the soul, mind and body, it is God and man in one, it is body and spirit, it is heaven and earth, it is birth and rebirth, it is health and healing, it is wealth and abundance, it is peace and tranquility , it is education and culture, it is the evolution of man and the progress of the planet, further.
I bow to Vienna and those who serve classical music.

This pure music unfortunately new generations don’t listen to. I am an Albanian and every year we sat and watched it via Italian channel RAI 1. Was a concert that we could not wait to watch. Thanks Vienna for giving us the most beautiful music. Happy New Year 2023 ❤
