Mr Bundy has now been officially recognised by the GSH team 😊 Good clear explanation Gary, keep em coming, even us old un’s need reminding of the regs from time to time 👍🏼
Gary, if Flexible (Pliable)is supported by basket or tray continuously how would that be accessed? We would and have used it in the application in plant rooms.
What would be appropriate conduit/trunking between the rear of two recessed meter boxes, please? The meter boxes are recessed in 100mm thick brick wall. Timber frame house.
I notice that a lot of these specifications are ‘should’ not ‘must’. I suppose this is intended to provide flexibility on any installation where these values cannot be achieved. That’s the difference between a guide and an instruction.
Nick getting a shout-out is going to make his head swell so he can't fit into little cupboards to fit those cu's 😉 But yes, it does make things extra complicated if you are new to the game
That flexible conduit is horrible. I very very rarely use it and then only for a short bends The amount of times amount of times I have had to replace it put in by other electricians as it’s gone brittle or rotten. Maybe it was cheep stuff to start with . Just saying

Sounds about right with the regulations 😅
It is just a GUIDE.I think as long as there secure no one’s going to go around measuring distances to the mm.
Will be law in 2 years with new things coming out, everything will be law and not a guide
Imagine doing your am2 in flexible conduit LOL
