Hi BastichB. Thank you so much for the honorable mention of my conversion of the Bill & Ted's Excellent GameBoy Adventure. We all know there are a lot more, even greater Game Boy games waiting for an appearance on our beloved C64 which I am happy to have a look at after I have finished my other ongoing C64 projects. Also big thanks to all the other retro game developers who make the C64 shine like no other retro system. 2023 was another great year!

Merry Christmas and another great video. For me, Briley Witch Chronicles 2 would be in my top 5 instead of Zeta Wing II, but that's personal/down to how much time you have had to play Briley 2. Lester took a while to grow on me, but I completed it. A Pig Quest set new standards for the computer, no doubt.
It looks like it will be next year before Gridlock from Megastyle/Chris Stanley is available, which is highly recommended by myself and the ZZAP! reviewers.
Thanks for the honourable mention for Dr Maria, it was fun to do the music for that.

I've messed around with Briley 2 but cant review it until I've played a decent chunk ... I'll be honest it feels like DLC to me rather than a new game so im not sure what im gonna say about it 😂😂. Gridlock looks very cool i cant wait to try it out 👍👍👍

A Pig Quest was incredible (apart from the stupid bats), but to me Lester is perfection...
Both are excellent , the top 10 😃order is kinda irrelevant its just the games i put the most time into 🕹️👍
Great review of the last year with so many quality releases again for the 64.
Eye of the beholder still holds the benchmark from the previous year, that was simply incredible what they did.
One thing i would say to developers is the 64 is the platform for shmups which are few and far between, thanks to Sarah we do have the fantastic Zetawing 2.

I used to have a commodore 64 then 128, and I remember a lot of these old games, like Mule, Seven Cities of Gold, etc. I'm having a major problem remembering this game. Not sure if it was on the Commodore or the 386/486 I had at the same time. It's a space station building game building the sky lab and doing research from around the 80s/90s/00. You are the definite knowledge of Commodore stuff.
Doesn't ring a bell on the C64 , sounds very much like a mid 90s DOS era game to me
Come to think of it there was a game called Project Space Station on the C64 & DOS ... That might be your game ?
@@BastichB64K I took another look at it, finally found a video.. It IS Project Space Station. The eva, the launch and landing sequence cinched it for me. I looked at other pictures on other parts of the game previously, and it didn't trigger anything! Thanks for your help! Now, I wonder if they ever made a similar but updated game lol.

Yeah i love it , a real C64 achievement
BurgerTime - Does the pepper work properly for you? When I play this in WinVICE, almost every single press of the button results in him using TWO peppers. The problem seems to be that the game will continue using peppers as long as the button is held down, and since there's no delay between them, unless you just very lightly tap the button, it registers long enough that the game throws a second one. At least that's the way it behaves for me. :(
I will sort this bug after xmas, might be an issue with certain keyboards or joysticks, there is a 6 frame cooldown between fire button checks which is usually plenty, I don't see the issue of any of my machines and have only had one report on the itch page.

That was me reporting it. To be honest I've only tried it in emulators as I don't currently have access to a real C64. That said, I've tried it in WinVICE, Hox64 and CCS64 and it behaved the same in all of them. I tried it in both PAL and NTSC, and I also tried different physical controllers as well as using the keyboard in place of the joystick. I got the same results no matter what I tried.
I first noticed it happened when I saw the game being played in a video, which is also how I learned about it. You can see it happen here;

Every time he uses the pepper, it uses up two of them. BTW, he also uses emulation to play the games, although I'm not sure what program he uses.

Question: do all these games recognize a Master System or Genesis pad as a multi-button controller?
I can't answer that , depends on too many factors like the emulator the version and more
Please don't use a Genesis on your original c64, you risk frying its port!
Could you do the same list for the Amiga 500?
I'd like too but im not following the Amiga modern scene as closely as the C64 and besides the fact that putting a video like this together takes a hell of a long time which is an understatement
Have they made any new RPG games like ultima, or Phantasie games?

Look for a Commotron 2000 Turbo its a 2 button compatible game pad That's C64 compatible
